Could be a couple of things:

  1. Foot control is bad - take foot control to your local Pfaff dealer to try on one of their machines. If their machine won't run either, it's the foot control and you can look into repair/replacement.
  2. Machine has a short or some type or computer board problem - take machine to local Pfaff dealer and try with one of their known working foot controls. If the machine still doesn't work, your dealer will need to diagnose what is wrong.
Hope this helps.

Happy stitching,

My pfaff creative sensation shuts down and starts up again when press sew button or put pedal down. What is causing the overload. I cleaned it. There are no threads caught in bobbin

You may have an old style transformer and/or a hook that is not grounded.

Both parts are not repairable, they need to be replaced.

Also, it could be poor grounding of front cover and circuit boards.

A dealer will probably have to do the work.

good luck!

Low bobbin thread indicator not working on Pfaff 2044. Using clear bobbins. Is there a lamp or sensor that can be replaced?

Have you tried to take out the bobbin case, close the door, and see if the indicator comes on? If the indicator works with no bobbin case, then the machine is working. You may have what we call foggy bobbins. Bobbins that are scratched or cloudy. Make sure you try a new one. Also check for lint blockage in the hook area or the bobbin case. If it still doesn't work, the indicator on the door may have gotten pushed in. That sometimes happens. You should feel the indicator eye protruding out a little bit from the door. You can open the area where the indicator is on the door to push it back out. Sometimes the indicator wire behind the hook gets broken. That would require you do disassemble the freearm cover area. Start with the simple things first.

I was sewing all was going fine and suddenly it wont pick up the bobbin thread everything seems to be moving what do i do i tried to reset clutch but when i push the button it wont move back ???? help...

perhaps you had a little jam of fabric or thread and threw off the timing of the hook that helps pull up the bobbin thread. the manual shows you how to loosen the screws and move the hook back. Might take a couple of times and be sure to tighten the 3 set screws well when you get it right. They are under the machine, so you have to loosen the belt and lay it on it's side.
Can't remember where I downloaded the manual last year, but on page 13 it shows the instructions. The photos are bad, so watch carefully. Try consew.com and download 206rb-5 manual. looked the same to me.
Not easy to do, use a flashlight and follow exactly and it will work. I did it the first time and I am not a guy and not a mechanic.

- resetting the timing

I have been an upholsterer for over 30 years, I own a Pfaff 145 and Pfaff 545. Both are basically the same. Whenever my timing is off, where the threaded needle won't connect with the bobbin thread, I have always had success in re-setting the timing by taking apart the entire bobbin case. Remove the walking foot and the plate it walks on. Remove the bobbin and dismantle everything underneath it. Keep each piece and its screws together, and remember the order in which you removed it (last goes in first, etc.)Remove any obstructions, thread, fluff, etc. Surprisingly, when you put it all back together, your timing will be back to normal. This has always worked for me, and I hope it'll work fo you.
