HP pavilion dv6000 speakers wont work

If you've check the Audio and Sound properties in the Device Manager then maybe the speakers are shot. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio and check the properties and settings. You can also click the Megaphone at the bottom right near the time. Make sure the Volume is turned up and not on Mute.

You can look on ebay and purchase replacement speakers based on a HP DV6000 Speakers search. You'll have to take the laptop apart to install them.

You could try downloading and reinstalling the Audio Drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound issues.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

Can't turn off internal speakers when i have external speakers connected via headphone socket

First, check if you put the connector for external speakers all the way to the end. Sometimes when the connector isn't fully inside both internal and external speakers will work. After you do that, once you connect the external speakers, go to the sound settings in windows and look for the volume mixer. You can regulate the sound for each type of speaker there.

HP Mini 1033CL intermittent or no sound

Probably something was touching the speaker cone and you snapped the speaker back so it no longer touches.

Pioneer SA 9800 Ampliffier Output transistor going off frequently

I assume these are the complimentary pair that drive the speakers. On one of the speaker. You know I think you have a short in the speaker that it drives. Speaker can fuction even if there was a problem with it. I think what happened is when the original transistors shorted out it overloaded the speaker, but not to a point where it is burnt. There is nothing that can overload a power transistor except the speakers, I design a lot of amplifiers, the base input can overload it if you put dc in there, but that would make a the sound all distorted, I assume the sound seem fine. Solution is try connecting a known good speaker and I bet it wont burn out anymore. Even if the speaker look fine don't trust it.

Want to connect laptop to tv

The specifications on your computer suggest that it has an S-Video port, which can be used to connect it to a TV; provided the tv has an S-Video input port on it.

Additionally, this will put a picture on your TV, but sound will have to come from somewhere as well. Most laptops have sound and speakers built in, but if you are watching TV, you will never be happy with that sound.

I have run a speaker connection from the outputs on the laptop to the outputs on the TV with success. When I did this, I used the video/sound cable that came with my video camera. It had a stereo male plug at one end that fit into the laptop and the other had two RCA plugs, one yellow and one red.

Typically, the yellow is for video, and red and white are for sound. In this case, I used the yellow for sound and it worked out fine.

All this information is based on the premise that your TV will support this connection. If not, you may be able to connect to a VCR (remember those things?) and run it that way.

good luck.

Disconnect the cable from the laptop and try to get sound out from the laptop via speakers or headphones, have a look around the sound settings.

Garbled sound

Your Codec is damaged. Reload your drivers for your sound card. First uninstall the old ones. Moving your non working speakers and they play fine says they are good. I have a problem that you have new speakers and the problem went away. Drivers do not care what speakers are on the other end. It only produces output. Now that your second pair is working correctly, put back the Harmons and see if the problem comes back

No sound

See if it works with the headphone jack instead of speakers.

If the sound is intermittant on the headphone jack too then the headphone jack is broken causing the speakers not to work. You could probably find a place to solder the jack.

If it works fine on headphones then either the speakers are bad or the amplifier on the mainboard has failed.
