Question about The Computers & Internet
THEY WORKED THE LAST TIME USED IT?
Hi mate, i am going to assume you have checked the globes :) other then that below is the manual, there appears to be a note on the wiring diagram about the headlights see below:
NOTE YOUR TRACTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A SPECIAL ALTERNATOR SYSTEM. THE LIGHTS ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY, BUT HAVE THEIR OWN ELECTRICAL SOURCE. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE LIGHTS WILL CHANGE WITH ENGINE SPEED. AT IDLE THE LIGHTS WILL DIM. AS THE ENGINE IS SPEEDED UP, THE LIGHTS WILL BECOME THEIR BRIGHTEST.
basically the lights run directly off the alternator with a switch in between,
before you proceed : if you know how to test power and earth wires with a test light then i would look at the attached diagram, if your not familiar with test lights and testing for power and earth then i would call a mate who can help
with the mower running i would use a simple light tester ( one that just lights up when there voltage) test and see if there is power to power side of the light bulb socket when the switch is on ( the red wire), if theirs no power at the light bulb socket then try the same test on each terminal of the headlight switch
if there is power at the light bulb socket - then check the earth wire is connected ( the back wire connecting to the light bulb socket) or replace the bulbs :) if not proceed to test the switch below
if there is power one one side of the switch but its not going to the bulbs - replace the switch, or ensure the wire that goes from the switch to the bulb is connected as there is a joiner in between that could be unplugged or corroded
if there is now power to the switch or the bulb at all then your alternator my be faulty and not providing power to the bulbs, your mower could just be running and starting off the remaining charge in the battery as the lights dont connect to the battery they will not function even if the battery is charged
see below for link to the manual with wire diagram
