Not a hope if it was switched on when it fell into the water as the components are live and will short out.

If it was switched off, left off and dried out, there is a 60% chance it will work when dried out. The battery still has power to the switch.

I dropped the speaker in water yesterday. I turned it off & attemped to dry out now it won't charge.

You toasted your battery. Unfortunately, you are more than likely out of luck as water damage is not covered under the Bose warranty.

The next time, hopefully never again, you drop an electronic device in the water, DO NOT TURN IT ON! Remove the battery and let dry for 48 hours, with all possible covers removed.

Tip

What To Do if I Drop My Cell Phone in Water?

The small convenient size of cell phones unfortunately also makes these electronics accident-prone, especially when it comes to water. If you drop your cell phone in water it is often possible to salvage it. If you drop your cell phone in water, you may have only seconds to retrieve it, so you need to act fast even if it means retrieving it from the toilet!

The next thing to do if you drop your cell phone in water is to remove the battery immediately without even hesitating to turn off the power. Dry the batter with a towel and set aside to dry thoroughly. The battery itself may or may not work again, fortunately batteries can be replaced fairly inexpensively. Even if the battery does work, it is a good idea to get a new one.

After you have removed the battery, dry off the cell phone with an absorbent towel as best as you can. Use cotton swabs to soak up water in crevices and on any fragile, exposed circuits. It is also helpful to disassemble it if you can and let all the parts dry separately. Just be sure that you know how to put it back together. If it is a flip or sliding cell phone, leave it open.

If you drop your cell phone in a beverage or in salt water, rinse the phone off with fresh water once you have removed the battery. Once you drop the phone in water, the additional rinsing will not do further damage, however, minerals or other materials will.

If you drop your cell phone in liquid that isn’t pure water, you may want to try giving it an alcohol bath. The alcohol will displace minerals and microscopic substances as well as aiding in the evaporation of the fluid. If it is available, you should use an alcohol concentration of 95% rather than rubbing alcohol that usually contains only 70%.

Once your phone is clean, leave it in a warm dry area or near an air conditioner for three days before you attempt to replace the battery and turn it on. This is very important, because although you may think that you have thoroughly dried it, the slightest moisture can react with the battery and cause it to short circuit. If droped your cell phone in water, and want to save it, resist the temptation of turning it on to see if it is working until you have waited at least 72 hours.

Dropped my go gear mp3 player in water, not working now will it start to work when it finally dries off inside?

The best thing you can do is take it apart as best you can (if possible) and put it in a dry, warm place. Leave it for 48+hours whilst it dries internally. Try turning it on whilst crossing your fingers.

Dropped coolpix X70 in water, now what?

Remove the battery and try to dry as many accessible areas as possible. Then, bury the camera in a bowl of dry rice for a week. Then, try to turn it on....it may or may not work.

Display screen is backwards

Sounds like the LCD is missing a signal getting to it. One of the signal lines is either damaged, possibly still has a small amount of liquid on it and is getting a bunch of resistance it shouldn't be.

Open the phone up, and let it sit and dry fully for a few days.

You could always try dropping it back into the rye & coke, it seemed to prefer that to water =0)

WET

Hi,

There is a good chance that the phone will work once dried...but make sure it is totally dry (try to absord all water ad give it a few days to dry out) before attempting to turn on. If you take it part and dry out the parts...even better.

L7 water damage

I dropped my phone in the toilet when it fell out of my back pocket. The best thing to do is dry it as well as possible and then leave it out to dry. I let my phone dry for approximately 2-4 weeks and now it's working again. I found this out after I went out and bought another phone. LRL from Texas.
