Sky mail Themes have gone missing!

On my computer I use Sky email on my Firefox account. Until the past weekend I have used the Themes with no problems. Suddenly the Themes I was using have disappeared, and the only ones available are the bog-standard ones. The more elaborate ones with illustrations, etc. had disappeared completely.

SOURCE: Missing Cursor on Firefox

Hi there Lauren,

I think I've got you covered on this one.
I'd like to offer up a two solutions.
One may be the solution to the disappearing cursor.
Failing that, the other addresses the symptoms, instead of the problem, sort of a sideways solution. Hopefully the result will be satisfactory.

  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double-Click Mouse
  • Click on the Pointer Options Tab
  • In the Visibility Box, is the 'Hide cursor while typing' option checked?
  • If so, uncheck it.
  • If not, below it is an option to 'Show location of cursor when I press Control Key'. Check it.
  • Click Apply. Click OK
If the first option doesn't fix the mystery, the second will show the location of the cursor when you press the Control Key. One or the other will make that cursor show itself.

Download IE 8 and see the improvement in speeds.

SOURCE: Who is my computer's "Administrator"? How can I change it?

Hi Kaites33,
To create a Administrator account on your MacBook, follow the instructions below, however, please note that this will only work if "Open Firmware Password Protection" has NOT been enabled. Anyhow, it's worth a try.
1. Shutdown your MacBook. 2. Press the power button to start the computer. 3. Immediately press and hold the Command (Apple) Key and the "s" key, until you see white text appear on a black screen. 4. At the prompt, type the following commands, hitting "Return" after each.

  • mount -uw /
  • rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
  • reboot
  • --------------- Once your computer reboots, it will show the "Welcome to OS X" video, and guide you through the process of creating a new Admin User.
Your current Standard User account will not be changed/harmed.
During the creation of the new Admin account, remember to: a) select "DO NOT TRANSFER MY DATA". b) Keep the SAME computer name. c) Choose a DIFFERENT Username (Otherwise it will overwrite your old account)
Once you have finished, you will have two accounts, and will be able to log in to either.
Optionally, when you are logged in with the new Admin Account, you could change your existing account to an admin account, then log out, log in to the old account (which is now an admin account too) and then delete the new admin account.
Hope this helps, and let me know if there is anything you do not understand.
    Regards,
    Cybernanga

SOURCE: My email was used to confirm another account,my facebook gone now

Hi. I had a similar problem... it can be fixed! Email facebook and explain what happened. Be patient and persistent.
    send email to:
    [email protected]
the first email I received back from them (day after I emailed) was generic saying:
"Our records indicate that there is not a disabled account associated with the address you are writing from. If you are referring to another account that has been disabled, please contact us directly from the email address you use to log in to that account..."
Except the email I was using DID belong to my missing account. So I replied with the SAME original message. And detailed what happened to my account.
I received a SECOND response, identical to the first.
I emailed them AGAIN detailing what happened.
FINALLY (about 1 1/2 weeks later) I received this email:
    "Hi Chelsey,
Your original account has been reactivated and you should be able to access it now. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions, please visit our Help Center at the following address:
    http://www.facebook.com/help.php
    Thanks for contacting Facebook,

IT CAN BE RESTORED!!!! :) [email protected]

Email alert can't be set up keeps saying test email failed please help

I have successfully set this up using yahoo.uk mail.
I cannot get it to work with gmail or virgin mail.

    Use these settings:

    pop/smtp email server > smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
send to email address > your email address
account > your email address without the "@yahoo.co.uk"
    password > your password

You can forward emails to your normal email address so that you can get alarms on your mobile without adding another email account.

Unfortunately your computer needs to switched on with sec24 running.

    My gmail addresses are gone....

First, you can check to see if the email information is stored in Firefox.

In the browser, go to: Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords
    novaweb_6.gif

Then in the password dialog box, type "google.com" in the search field. That will display a list of all google accounts which are saved in the browser. To display the passwords, click on the "Show passwords" button.
    novaweb_7.gif

If the Gmail account information is not stored in Firefox, you can then try the Gmail password recovery pageL

How can i get me sky emails connected to my i phone

Log into Sky webmail, click mail settings, forwarding and pop/imap
    enable IMAP.

    iPhone:
    Configure your mail client:

    1. Tap Settings.
    2. Tap Mail.
    3. Tap Add Account.
    4. Tap Other. (Note: Don't tap Sky Email; if you do, you'll set up POP rather than IMAP. We are aware of this issue and are currently working to make setting up Sky Email more intuitive for the iPhone).
    5. Make sure that:
    - The IMAP tab is highlighted
    - Host Name is imap.tools.sky.com
    - Username is your full Sky Email address, including '@sky.com'
    - For Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), Host Name is smtp.tools.sky.com

    6. Tap Save.

And you've finished. You can verify your Advanced settings by tapping Settings, then [your Sky Email IMAP Account] followed by Advanced.

    Incoming Settings:
    - Use SSL: ON
    - Authentication: password
    - Server Port: 993 for IMAP.

    Outgoing Settings:
    - Use SSL: ON
    - Authentication: Password
    - Server Port: 465

Just gone from virgin to sky and was told i could use my old e.mail address but nothing can not get my e.mails virgin said that now i have switched i have no access apart from ringing sky and being on...

NO! Nio if you had a virgin address [email protected] or whatever. once you switch to another carrier your emails are rejected back to the sender until you advise them of your new address [email protected] or whatever.

If your addres was like [email protected] then it doesn't matter what carrier you have as you are dealing with webmail that can be collected by any new carrier via an email client like Express or your choice of email clients.

    Dont have themes settings

    hi,

The Gmail themes tab is missing from the Settings because you are using the older Gmail version. To use themes on your account, you need to change to the standard version or the more advanced Gmail version. And this is how you do it.
Log in to your Gmail account. Once you get to the inbox, check for the Newer version link near the top right. You cannot miss it - it's to the right of the Settings link. By the way, changing the Gmail version will not harm or delete your email messages or information, so go ahead and click on the link.
When the newer Gmail version loads, you would see some small cosmetic changes in colors and layout. Anyway, to get Gmail themes for your account, hit the Settings link and go to the Themes tab. I suppose you can now take it from here.
You will not be able to use Gmail themes if you are working from an old web browser. This feature is compatible only Internet Explorer 7.0+, Firefox 2.0+, Safari 3.0+ and of course Google`s chrome . If you are still on Internet Explorer version 6 (and many are), you need to upgrade to the next version to get Gmail themes for your email account or better still download and install chrome or Firefox.

I am attempting to transfere E mail facility to windows mail. They cannot verify the host/ server as tools.sky.com please verify the correct address for incoming and outgoing.

Applogies for the copy and paste, but it's rather long winded to type, but sky tools is not the email setting, see below:-

1.Open Outlook Express, click Tools then select Accounts 2. Click the Mail tab, then click Add and select Mail 3. The wizard will start. Type in your name then click Next 4. Enter your email address then click Next 5. Leave the My Incoming Mail Server is a POP3 Server drop down box as POP3. In Incoming Mail Server enter: pop.sky.com (all lowercase, no spaces). In Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server enter: smtp.sky.com (all lowercase, no spaces). 6. In the Account Name Box enter the first part of your @sky.com email address (everything before the @ sign). In the Password Box, enter the password for your @sky.com email account, then click Next. 7. Click Finish 8. To complete the acount creation process click Tools then select Accounts 9. Click the Mail tab, then click Properties 10. Click the My server requires authentication box to place a tick inside. Click OK 11. Repeat the above process for each mail account you want to set up, including sub accounts. Each sub account will have a different email address and password. If you're having trouble sending email from Outlook Express (or other email software), it may mean you need to switch on SMTP authentication.
