My hp pavilion model g6-2240as when restarting, states that the fan is not working properly and then cuts out in about 15 seconds. I do not know what to do. It has windows 8.1 operating system and the...

This is a common issue with laptops. Quite often, however, the problem is not the fan, but the heatsink that the fan blows the air over to remove heat from the processor. People tend to lay their laptops on their laps, beds, sofas, and carpets when they use them. This sucks massive amounts of dust, hair, lint, etc. into the cooling passages and clogs the heatsink. Many laptops are now made so that the heatsink can be removed for cleaning. If the heatsink is clogged, the fan cannot cool the processor and the processor overheats. This causes the cutting out for processor protection.

Green power light doesn't turn on but the yellow light goes on

In your added problem along with more information now, you have witnessed what I have previously stated;

Bad Power Supply.
Weak voltage power rail.
Not enough power to turn the Processor on.

1) IF, all of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) A typical processor can use from 51 to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what Processor it is.

(CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short )

The Processor in a Compaq Presario SR5110NX Desktop PC is an

HP Support > Compaq Presario SR5110NX Desktop PC > Product information > Product specifications > Compaq Presario SR5110NX Desktop PC Product Specifications,

Processor - (AMD) Athlon 64 3500+
Socket 939 processor socket,

Depending on what Core it is based on, (ClawHammer, Newcastle, Winchester, Venice, Manchester, etc), it can use up to 67 Watts, or 89 Watts.

No Processor operating, No computer.
Replace the Power Supply.

{ Also clean out the inside of the computer with a can of compressed air for computers, on a regular basis as needed. It may be every two weeks, if the situation calls for it.
Remember to follow Anti-Static Precautions, BEFORE reaching inside the computer.

N-E-V-E-R use a vacuum cleaner to clean a computer.
A vacuum cleaner produces Static electricity.

{Hold the plastic wand device sideways, over your hair with the vacuum turned on. Your hair will stand up from the Static.
Have seen many a so-called computer tech fry a unit using a vacuum }

Every time I turn my camera on and off I have to reset the picture settings. How do I keep the settings the same,until I manually change them?

Possible there are errors in the CPU of the camera and so does not respond to the commands of the menu.
Usually this is an auto save mode and if this wont stay then is is possible that the processor has prroblems.
Request you to clean battery terminals, check card, check of moisture- use a hair dryer to heat off.

I have the problem when reinstalling the processor

Trying to reinstall the processor with the heat sink still attached is not a good idea--as pins can very easily be damaged.
You will have to pry the processor from the heat sink. Use a small screwdriver, but do it gently--all around the edges. You can also make it a little easier by getting a hair dryer and heat the whole thing up before trying.
Don't worry about damaging it with the hot air. It runs at a higher temp than a hair dryer.

First, what kind of upgrade do you expect to do? Many motherboards will not accept a different processor. That being said, you can use a small flat tipped screwdriver between the heat sink and processor. There isn't much room, but very gentle prying all around should do it. You may heat it up a bit with a blow dryer to soften the heat sink compound that hardens with age. You can't harm it with the temperature of the air from a hair dryer.
