Dvd battery
Hello sara_lou,
I have 2 suggestions for you:
1) Look into purchasing an external rechargeable battery pack for PDVD units (available at Best Buy). It is an external pack that will connect to the players AC port.
2) Prepare for surgery! You will need 6 rechargeable AA batteries, a soldering iron, super glue, and patience.
You'll need to open the battery case and look at the batteries within. Note the direction and polarity of all the batteries and how they are wired/soldered together. You will need to replace all these batteries with the new ones you have purchased. Wire together the new batteries in the exact same order and polarity as the old dead ones. Remove the old ones and replace with the new ones. Solder in where necessary and be sure not to bridge any contacts. Put the case back together with a little super glue on the seam. Replace into the PDVD player when the battery case is dry (or else you may permanently mount the battery case into the player) and set to recharge using the AC pack. if everythign was wired correctly, you should have a charged battery pack in about 1 hour (since most rechargeable batteries come with 3/4 charge in them).
While I don't recomend this second solution, it is plausable for the hobbiest electrician or DIY-er.
Best of luck to you!
