Tip

Amazon fire stick reset

make sure that your wifi is a good signal,if you are using a lower tier internet service then it wont work, call your internet provider and verify that your internet is sufficient, also use 5ghz wifi, not 2.8ghz.
if this doesnt work for connecting then,
reset this way,
straight from amazon,reset firestick,
Please unplug the Fire TV stick from power source and then plug it again after 5 seconds.
Once the Fire TV stick is back on, please take batteries out of the remote and re-insert
-----------------------------------------------
also, xfinity remote controls work with firestik tv in place of the original remote, program it for a vizio tv and forget the original remote!

Perform one or more of
1. re-insert the firestick.
2. Power cycle the TV
3. renew the lease from the router (if not dynamic dhcp)
4. power cycle the router (as last resort)

We do not know our password for netgear using the new amazon fire tv stick we just purchased from you

If you are referring to your router, is it from your Internet service provider (ISP)? If so, you can call them.

If not from them and you bought it from a retail outlet, you can...
1. open your web browser like IExplorer.
2. in the address bar (Where you type in the URL (web address like www.?) type your router's IP address example:192.168.1.1
and enter the user name and password to access the router. Or
3. Press and hold the reset button on the router and start from scratch using the router's setup wizzard making a new password.
4. Using a button located on your router use the router to give permission to allow the device to access it.

NOTE: you can go on D-LINK's web site and download the users manual and/or software for your router.

I cannot reset my password

Im presuming its your internet connection password ?

Your Internet service provider (ISP) requires a username and password to access service features, including Internet and email.

Your ISP should provide this information when you set up your Internet service.

Typically, once you complete the setup and save the information, your router or modem transmits it behind the scenes when you try to access the Internet.

As a result, the username and password can be easily forgotten because they are not used daily.

If you reset your router or simply forget the password, gaining access to network resources and the Internet becomes a challenge.

Call your ISP's technical support department.

Many ISPs set a default username and password for their routers.

If you didn't change the username and password, your ISP can provide the original information.

Before you hang up, make sure the information is correct by entering it and trying to connect to the Internet.

If the information is incorrect and you still cannot get a connection, keep the information for later reference.

Call your router's manufacturer.

The manufacturer of your router sets a username and password prior to shipping the device to your ISP.

Look at the router for the contact information of the manufacturer.

Call their customer service or technical support department and ask for the default information.

Reset your router.

If you changed your router's username and password and cannot remember what you entered, you may have to reset the router.

Insert the resource CD into your computer's CD drive.

When the software installation program starts, search the screen for "Resources" or "Documentation" or "User Manual."

Click the documentation link and search the table of contents for resetting the router.

When you reset the router, the username and password return to the default set by your ISP or manufacturer.

Enter the information provided by your ISP or manufacturer.

Hope this helps.

My router quit working when i changed internet providers

You need to access the router settings:
* connect your computer via ethernet cable from the back of your computer to the back of your router* open a browser (mozilla firefox, google chrome, internet explorer)* type 192.168.1.1 on the address bar (that's where you type the www address)* press enter* you will be routed to the router page* select setup/interface setup* read down the information stated* look for the username and password (this will be provided to you by your service provider)* type the username and password in the correct fields then press saved.
The reason why your router is not working is the username embeded in your router settings, it might be still the old username and password from your previous internet service provider, this should be corrected for you to have complete connection.
Thanks for choosing www.fixya.com

A subscribed internet connnection would likely have been the providers responsibility. Once, the devices appear to be in functioning conditions as usual only has a remote signal compromise, contacting the service internet provider should resolve the issue. Also, the provider of the signals usually a remote computer would require to reconnect to your computer in processes discussed. Once informing the admistrator of the remote computer, your systems would require powering of completely, thereafter, the remote server computer searches to acquire the devices requiring reestablishement. Shortly thereafter your systems of computers modems are powered back on to ascertain the new settings of signals. The condition would have been caused by the remote computers replacement of devices where their disconnection causes yours to disconnect. However, the subscriber has to reach to the provider for reestablsiment unless notification of the shortage is being communicated with an alternate arrangement least yet arrived. Contact the internet provider. Goodluck

New internet provider and now can not use remote viewing

If you have changed Internet Providers (which I assume you have considering you refer to changing from DSL to Cable modem), your "location" on the Internet has also changed.

Try going through the setup process with your Slingbox again as if it were the first time you had installed it.
