Tip

Harmony remote always sets TV to channel 3

So I have had this a few times where the setup wizard for the Watch TV Activity not only asks what input the TV has to be on, but also what channel. A lot of the time I got annoyed when the channel would always goe to a particular one (usually 3) at the beginning of the Activity.

Unfortunately, we can not get rid of this setting, although there is a workaround. If we go through the setup for the Activity again, and select the channel to be '0' for the Activity, in most cases that will work.

When most TV's receive a '0' channel command and no other numbers, it disregards the command and stays where it is.

Hope it helps

Pro-96 ,channels 1 thru 9 are locked out ,only 0 is

You are referring to banks, not channels. When bank 0 is active, then you push 0 to de-activate it, you have now removed all your banks from the scan list. To re-activate any bank, just press any number. This is confusing because locking out a channel and removing a bank from the scan list are two very different operations but use the same terminology.

Does a Regency Toutch K 100 20 channels S1&S2 Does it scan all 20 ch at the same time, S1- ch 1 S2 ch 11- 12 Etc??, what is a d code mean?

Your Regency scans (samples) the programmed frequencies at the rate of approximately 15 channels per second, so it is constantly checking for an active frequency. "D-code" code refer to any of a number of things. Do you have the term in context?

Conversion to home theatre

You will need a separate stereo amplifier for the 901's to accommodate the need for the Active EQ. There is no way to separate your receiver's front L&R channel preamplifiers from their amplifiers.

I run a Carver AV-406 (5-channel amp) for my 901's in Front, 2 Subwoofers and the Rear Surround channel, with the Active EQ between the receiver and the 901's amp channels. My receiver controls everything and just drives the Center and Surrounds. You would probably just get a nice 2-channel amplier for the 901's. If your receiver requires a powered Subwoofer so you would need another amplifier channel for that, too. Therefore, you might look around for a powerful 3- or 4-channel amplifier so you could drive the Sub, too.

Modest amps would work but at very loud volumes may go into clipping, which is bad for any speaker. I'm using only 100W for mine and it has plenty of steam for the 901's.

For connection I would run a pair of RCA cables from the Front L&R Audio Line OUT to the Active EQ's Line IN; then the EQ's Line OUT to a separate amp's Line IN. Attach the 901's to the new amp, run through the receiver's setup procedures for volume, etc and you're done.

Not what you might want to hear but 901's have special requirements. I've had mine for 25 years and have no regrets.

A separate subwoofer channel on the amp could be used. Just run a single RCA channel from Sub OUT to one available channel IN on the amp and attach the subwoofer to it. Two would work, also. That's what I do. You could use a 1-2 RCA splitter to feed two available channels on a 4-channel amp. The iterations are many. Have fun.

Subwoofer: Active or non active?

Hello Smegboy,

Yes, you are right. This receiver is rated at 100WRMS output in all 5 channels (2-front, 1-center and 2-surround) while in Dolby Pro Logic operation. The subwoofer output is line level only (not amplified), which means you need a powered subwoofer to be connected to this output. A non-powered subwoofer could be used but, you need an additional amplifier connected to the subwwofer output from the receiver to drive it.
Let me know if this helps.
