Does the engine crank when you try to crank it? Or does it completely ignore you? What do you mean by it shows a full charge? Do you mean the battery?

No it doesn't crank, just a click. Mower has a digital readout, when I turn key to ON, that provides info: oil level, hours of use & battery charge amount (21.7- full chg acc to manual). Also hooked battery up to charger, but that also indicated a full charge. Gas tank is full, PTO knob in OFF position, oil is new & at proper level, parking brake on, mowing deck disengaged. Have read & re-read manual. Didn't take battery out after last use though. Buy new battery perhaps? I'm so frustrated, bc am very capable w/power tools, etc.--but no mechanic. Thank you for responding.

If you hear a click when you try to start the engine, then the problem is very likely the battery. However, is is possible that the problem is corrosion on the battery terminals! To give you an idea what happens when battery terminals or connections become corroded, is limits the current that can be delivered to the starter. The voltage may be just fine, but the starter needs a lot of current to turn the engine. What would happen if you had a 12 volt headlamp in electrical series with the starter? You would see the lamp come on, but almost no voltage would reach the starter! I doubt that the starter solenoid would even click! Remember, when you clean battery terminals, you are dealing with ACID, so wear rubber gloves, and eye protection ... regular glasses are not enough because of air gaps around your eyes! I would use a stiff wire brush, and I would recommend that it have brass bristles so the acid won't corrode the brush! After the connections are pristine clean, use some new automotive grade grease to cover all metal surfaces involved, ESPECIALLY where the metal will be HIDDEN after you put it all back together. Starvation for oxygen is your friend when trying to prevent acid-induced corrosion!

I have a Troy Bilt 175 HP 500cc 7 speed riding mower. I just bought a new battery, and it still won't crank. It'll turn over like it wants to, but nothing. I put new gas with the old gas from last season...

If you didn't put fuel stabilizer in gas before letting the mower setup all winter, your gas has gunked up your carb.
You can verify this by removing the air filter and spraying starter fluid in the carb. If it cranks with the starter fluid, the carb is dirty.
Pull the carb and clean it out

We have a troy bilt snow blower 1 yr old and we are trying to start it. When we try to prime it, the primer bulb does not seem to be moving any fuel. It just sounds like air. It will not start. We have...

Are there two tubes connected to the back of the primer bulb?
If it is connected, then the primer bulb itself could be cracked, allowing air to enter, but not fuel.
See if you can gently pry or possibly unscrew the bulb for replacement. They are readily available.

Troy-Bilt Briggs & Stratton 550 restarting

Troy, Unless you are using old fuel (it breaks down after 1 week) it sounds like you have a faulty spark plug. Replace this first, drain any old fuel and replace with fresh fuel (premium unleaded). A faulty plug will work one minute but then fail like you have described.
