Homemaker 5kg dryer cant locate heating reset button

Most dryers have sensors that fail, and can not be reset. These need to be replaced. They are used to prevent fires and fail primarily from build-up of lint and heat. Make and model numbers are essential in solving any appliance repair issue.

Homemaker Dryer

You should have a warranty for this. Check with the store that sold it and see if they service what they sell.

Homemaker HMCD50Y dryer

Because the dryer is running, but not heating, it sounds like the element. The rattling could be a part of the element that was weak and then broken during the move.

Inspect the element by taking off the back cover [unplug first] and remove the section of the flue-like piece that goes from bottom toward top at angle. The element is the spiral wire that runs inside that larger aluminum section.

Be sure to remeber where the 6 or 8 wires were connected. Grab a digital camera before removing the wires.

If you need an element, it comes with that aluminum section in a large box--not just the curly wires.

I've seen bad elements with breaks that could only be found by continuity testing and some that are obviously burnt in 2 or more places. I've also seen them ground out by a metal bone from a woman's bra. The move and the rattling--I'd check the element.

You have to remove the vent hose before removing the back cover. Be careful not to damage it. The cover can be a pain to reseat and fit around the vent housing at the same time--depending on work space. With part and tools in hand, 1 1/2 hours for a casual DIYer.
