There are so many things that could cause this particular problem. From a bad hard drive, to bad ram, to a bug or virus, to simply just your anti virus software, or some other software not closing out.
I would start with a hard drive diagnostic and see if that passes ok. Also, run a chkdsk on the drive to make sure everything in the file system is clean. Do a virus scan to check for bugs. And then run the system file checker to make sure all windows system files are orignal and unchanged. You can also check the admin event logs for any clues as to erros or problems.
A simple hard drive diagnostic can be found here - http://support.wdc.com/download/index.asp?cxml=n&pid=999&swid=3 about mid page is a download button, install it and run from windows, easy to follow.
Run a chckdsk on the drive. Go into My Computer, right click on your hard drive listed, left click on properties and in the pop up window, choose the tools tab and click the Check Now button under error checking. This will schedule a chkdsk during the next boot. Reboot the pc and let it run. Also, make sure that both boxes are checked. One for auto fix system errors and one for bad sector check before clicking ok. You'll see what I am talking about as you go through the steps.
Check for viruses, if you dont have an anti-virus software, then go download the free version of AVG. It works well. You can get that at http://free.grisoft.com
And the other thing to check is the event log. Go into your control panel, open the Admin Tools icon and then open the Event Viewer section. You can check for erros in windows in those logs to maybe identify a problem.

Log off? Not turn off?
Does the wireless work after you reboot?
If you log off but keep the computer powered it may be a power management issue.
Some network adapters have a setting to allow windows to turn them off to save power.
Go to the Device Manager, right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties.
Is there a Power Management tab? If so, click on it and remove the check mark from "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

The site has multiple servers, perhaps 50 or whatever.
You account is apparently on one of the serves that is being serviced.
The site administrator should not let that happen.
Try this trick:
(This only works under certain conditions)
After you log onto hubby's account, note (or copy) the address that is in your Internet browser (Explorer?) .... and log out of the account.
Now put the entire address back in, but put your account name/number in place of the former. It may take you to a different server.

could be a problem with your Windows OS and you may need reinstalling it. But do try to connect the keyboard in another USB port, try booting in Safe Mode and if none works, verify the keyboard works on another computer. If it does, enter the BIOS of your desktop system, then look for an option related to legacy USB and try to disable it if available. If none found, reset your BIOS to default settings and try the keyboard again in Windows. If none works, try to repair or reinstall Windows specially if another keyboard has the same issue when connected to your computer
