SOURCE: Sears Kenmore Elite Front Loader Washer F09 Error 110.42832 200

Okay...you probably already know this, but here it goes. F9 is an Overflow Condition. If the Overflow contact on the pressure switch is Closed for more than 60 seconds an Overflow condition will occur. In an Overflow condition, the Door will remain locked, and the Drain Pump will run constantly, even if PAUSE/CANCEL is pressed twice and the Display is cleared. Unplug the unit to service. This is verbatim from the tech sheet. You will need to check to following: 1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or inked. 2. Check Wire Harness connectors to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 3. Check/Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects 4. Check for Drain Pump Failure. 5. Check the Inlet Valve for proper shut off 6. Check the Pressure switch for proper operation. Now, I don't know if the repairman had anything to do with this problem or not. If he didn't mess with any electrical connections, then this may strictly be coincidence. If you've only been checking the drain pump for foreign objects, you probably need to check some of the other items mentioned. 1. Check the drain hose by removing it from the standpipe and pull a vacuum on it with a shop vac. Could be you have an obstruction somewhere. Be sure to check the hose just prior to the drain pump as well. This is the hose on the bottom of the tub. This area can get clogged with debris. (Also, to prevent from making a huge mess the next time, try using this procedure to drain the washer from the machine BEFORE you remove the pump cover). 2. Unplug the washer and remove the kick plate and top panel. Check for any loose connections at the drain pump, pressure switch (located in the right rear of the machine), and the CCU (located in the rear of the washer with all the wiring running to it). Could be you have a loose or dirty connection somewhere. If you remove any connectors, make sure you write down where they go. It's best to only remove ONE connector at a time when checking the CCU. On the pressure switch, make sure the air hose is still attached. With the air hose off, loose, or leaking, the switch will not work and the tub will continue to try to fill. I don't know if this will generate an F09 error, though. 3. The drain pump. If it's running and you've already checked it for foreign matter, the pump is probably not the problem. 4. The inlet valve. You can check them if you like, but an overflow condition would indicate the presence of too much water. If the inlet valve would fail in this manner, the tub would be trying to fill with water all the time. Could be running water or a small trickle. Do you find standing water in the tub when not in use? 5. The suds error. This occurs when air from too much detergent gets into the drain line. I know you say you are using HE detergent (which is great, because on the newer models NOT using HE detergent voids your warranty), but HOW MUCH are you using? Some things to consider: a. Do you have soft water? This can actually cause the soap to suds better making the need to cut back on how much you use. b. Look at the detergent container. Is it double concentrated? Some detergents are sold as extra concentrated which means you need to cut back on the amount you use. Not doing so can cause the water to over suds. c. What size loads are you using the detergent in? Running small loads with the same amount of detergent can also cause over sudsing. Rule out the simple common sense things first. When everything else checks out and your problem still persists, you may have some concern (usually the CCU or pressure switch). I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence, and I hope this helps you in some way.

SOURCE: Error code F09/Whirlpool Duet front loading washer

"F09" is an Overflow Condition error. This is usually attributed to a malfunctioning pressure switch, loose or broken connector between the Pressure Switch, Drain Pump and Central Control Unit (CCU), or...a drain pump or drain line that has become clogged.

Since this problem occurs periodically during the wash cycle, I would check your drain pump filter for obstructions first. It could be that you have debris lodged in the pump causing it not to drain properly. To access the pump:

1. Unplug the washer.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Placing a couple of blocks of wood under the front feet of the washer will make access much easier.
3. The drain pump is located under the wash tub in the center. HINT: If you own a shop vac, remove the drain line from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum through the drain line. This will remove all residual water from the washer and make clean up later a lot less messy. Now, remove the cover on the drain pump and remove. Clean out the pump filter and check the pump impeller for obstructions.

If you do not own a shop vac, place a bunch of towels around the drain pump BEFORE you open it. There's about a gallon or so of water in the tub, drain line and pump.

Try this first, and let me know if this corrects your problem. If not, you may need to check the pressure switch and wiring. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet front load washer flashes F35 shortly after start

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by too much soap use..
From the book :
SUD Code=
If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

Error message : e01 f09

First try holding down the cancel button for 10 seconds and releasing (might have to do this 2~3 times). The technician manual is located under the lower front panel. I've heard that locating the CCU (brain box, in lower right) freeing it up and giving it a couple of wacks has worked. F09 is pressure switch, E01 is Thermistor. The tech manual will be a great help!!

Maytag Maxima washer error codes E01 F08

Mine was resolved after changing the Symmons slide valve at the inlet to the hoses. This valve is spring loaded and does not work if not exercised as open and close on regular basis. My hot water supply was completely shut off and cold water remained open at all time. Check the incoming water pressure by unscrewing the hoses from washer and check water outlet by filling the bucket from both sources. Symmons slide valve at the wall is W-400 and was 25 years old.
