New drum cartridge kit in workcenter 3615. It sounds like a little cricket in is in the printer. Is this normal for a new drum cartridge?

Hi I think that you will need to clean the gold dots on the printer carriage or if not done so remove the blue tape from the cartridge or if you are trying to use refills install some originals as this may help.

Problem:

Brother Drum Reset Instructions


The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below:
Press the cover release button and then open the front cover of the printer.


Press and hold down Go button until all 4 LEDs are lit. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button.

Close the front cover.
Make sure that the Drum LED is now off.
Reset the drum counter only when you replaced the drum unit with a new one.

SOURCE: Printer ghosting(?) after replacing toner cartridge/drum assembly

If you have tried a new drum unit (DR-2025) without success, you will most likely find that the ghosting is caused by a worn roller in the fuser unit.

A brother service centre would be able to replace the roller or the entire fuser for you, but it may be expensive. Compare prices on a new replacement machine - brother MFC-7340.

The back right of the drum has a small 20mm F80mA fuse that you need to replace to reset the drum counter.
(fuse blows to reset the drum life setting)

That error signifies an unsupported black toner cartridge. Verify oem Xerox cartridge, try reseat cartridge. If not cartridge it will be the MCU Board, part number 960K60951.

I have a Xerox XC820. I am getting dark copies with residual images from previous copies. Toner appears to be adhering to the drum cartridge. Do I need a new drum cartridge?


I have a Xerox xc820. The drum kit needed to be replaced, which I did as well as put in a new toner cartridge. The pages are now coming out very dark. Prior to putting in the new drum kit and new toner cartridge, the machine ran fine. I have tried all I know how to do and to no avail. Have cleaned the "wire", all the parts I can get to and cleaned the plate. Any help would be appreciated.

J2 error for Workcenter XD102 indicates a Drum Cartridge Problem sensed by the main PWB indicating that the Drum cartridge had reached its end of life. You may replace the Drum cartridge with a brand new Drum Cartridge. This should fix the problem.
If you believe that its not the Drum cartridge with or without replacing the Drum cartridge, you may try to open the printer, make a good clean and perform the below. 1. Check the PWB and Drum Cartridge Reset Circuit for any loose connection and short circuit. You may re-seat the cables and terminations and test. 2. If that didn't work you might need to get some voltage from the Drum Cartridge Reset Circuit as per below. 2a. If voltage is more than 0.5 VDC measured between PJ CN116-2 and GND then you need to replace the Drum Cartridge Reset Switch PL x.x. 2b. If voltage is less than 0.5 VDC measured between PJ CN116-2 and GND then actuate the Drum cartridge Reset Switch. Then check the voltage if its +5 VDC measured between PJ CN116-2 and GND. i. If not then replace the Drum Cartridge Reset Switch PL 5.. ii. Else it should be fine. iii. If not then replace the Main PWB, PL 7.1.

The printer has stopped because the photoconductor kit has reached the end of its useful life. but the cartridge is new


After you replace the imaging drum, you should reset the imaging drum's counter. To reset the counter, press and hold the Cancel button cancel_button_0.jpg until all lights flash in sequence.

Toner sensor error after replacing cartrige...


Hopefully this will clear up a little confusion I had:

1. Follow instructions for replacing toner cartridge.
2. Remove drum from printer. Take care not to handle the drum surface. Look for a small rectangular window or depression. The window will be completely or partially blocked by a flap.
3. Use a fine pointed instrument to move the flap up, so that the sensor underneath is visible.
4. Replace the drum. The error should clear after the print engine has reset.

Zerox workcenter m151 when i print i only get on both sies of page light coverage not readable copy if i copy with cover open i get two solid black strips do i neeed a new drum or is it something...


Your toner is empty and just not indicating it's empty.
There is a light sensor and windows through the cartridge. Sometimes there is a little ink left on the window and it doesn't report empty.
