SOURCE: can the water pipe in a GE SBS door be replaced?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.
Open the door and then lift
gently the door seal from the inside. You will note that there are screws in the door. All you have to do to open the door is remove all of the screws for the door gasket and possibly a fet bor for the mteal retaining place for the door seal. The door will come apart but is is a tedious process to get it back together if you do not lay it flat. Sometimes you get lucky but if there are 2 people then you can do it door on. The water line is replaceable but usually you need to know how long of a water line that you need as it is sold in bulk by the foot. It appears that there is a hose just at the hinge point that can be purchased separately.

Take a look at this link for the Location of the hose here:

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5209032&diagram_id=22190124#d22190124

It looks like item 80 that your talking about.

Just take your time and do not get in a hurry. Things have a tendancy to break.... (lots of experience on my part!)

Thanks for using Fixya.

Kelly

Doewoo no frost fridge freezer is working fine except that we keep getting puddles of water under the freezer door. any ideas. had about 4 years now

probably a blocked drain outlet or pipe. At the bottom rear of the unit, mine had a drain pipe blocked with a plug of mould (5/6 years old machine), apparently quite common. I detached the pipe and cleaned it out and replaced it.
From inside the freezer, I removed the lower back panel and thawed the ice build up on the drainage tray below the defrost heating element, leading to the pipe outside. The puddles of water that was appearing every defrost cycle have now stopped - permanently I hope. Hope this helps you

Is the water leaking from the door, onto the floor in front. If so, probably a blocked drain outlet or pipe. At the bottom rear of the unit, mine had a drain pipe blocked with a plug of mould (5/6 years old machine), apparently quite common. I detached the pipe and cleaned it out and replaced it.

Coolant is leaking from hose/pipe under coolant reservoir

It sounds like the outlet pipe from rear of water pump, which takes the hose from the rear plastic pipe, which is very common problem in Daewoo Leganza/Nubira/Lanos Australian 2.0/2.2 DOHC engines.Either the hose itself, the plastic pipe, or the alloy outlet for the hose on rear of water pump, which is subject to corrosion. You will have to confirm where leak is from, if it is from hose to rear of water pump, you can try re-clamping hose or replacing hose, if it is corrosion of that outlet, the part is available @$40-60 new, but it is a fairly major job because timing cover timing belt and then water pump must be removed...it is a difficult workspace in front of and behind that engine, the manifold and alternator are both in the way , it may be possible to do it in car but you may even be better off removing engine to work on.Good news is that this is a great opportunity to replace T-belt and water pump and pulleys at the same time..Sorry its not that great a news, its not a very easy DIY job, but it is do-able if you have some experience and tools.

your refrig should work just fine without water connected to it. just make sure your icemaker is not turned on. it will not harm you refrig to use it without water connected..
