Can I grind coffee in an electric grain mill?

Electric grain mills were not designed to grind up oily grains like coffee, you would be better off getting either a hand grinder or a coffee grinder.

Can I use a coffee grinder to mill grains?

You can although I have found that the coffee grinder doesn't mill the grains down to a fine enough powder for making flour though.

Farberware superfast coffeemaker--how to i stop coffee grains getting into the brewed coffee?

Use a paper filter.
Place the filter under the coffee to be brewed. That will let the coffee through without the grinds.

When I make capuccino fine grains of coffee come through, spoiling the taste.

Check the basket and the portafilter if you are using a manual machine, and if using a superauto check the screen in the brew unit for damage.

Empty light on espresso machine won't turn off and tank is full

I have the same machine. I just went on the coffee geeks website and it is easily solved. Just add a few grains of salt to the reservoir - the sensor cant detect water that is purified - strange but true as four grains and it fired up just like that.

No coffee

I had a similar problem with my XP 7240 with the coffee not coming out, but dripping through the machine and out the back. I found that overtime, there was a buildup of coffee in the "pod" area or percolation chamber and this was not properly removed. As a result, with additional cups being made, there was so much coffee compacted that it couldn't drip through.

I managed to clean it out by breaking up the compacted grains and it all worked fine. I also find that after each cup made, there is always some coffee grains left on the coffee cleaning tray above the grounds collector. I figured that this was the culprit as these grains would drop into the percolation chamber - adding this to the normal amount of coffee grains. It was never effectively cleaned out.

Now, I remove that tray after each cup, empty the grains and it seems OK. It's a pain, but I haven't had the problem for 2 months now.

Every now and then, I also get the vacuum cleaner and try to **** anything that might be oin there out.

Coffee brews cloudy

If the coffee grains are too fine, it will flow through the permanent filter. Use the paper filter instead. Also, make sure the lid is on the caraffe tight, or the filter basket will back up.

I just got mine to work. It seems that so much water condensation gets into the grinder that there was rust stopping the grinder from moving. Just remove all the parts, especially the blade and basket holder assembly. Take a pair of pliers and twist the grinder stem manually to loosen the rust. Turn it a good number of times and then test it out. I didn't want to use WD-40 on something my wife uses everyday. Good luck.
