SOURCE: I have a Craftsmen 1800 PSI Electric Pressure

Without more information than you have provided, I would think that yoour motor has been damaged by over use or by using too small an electric cord or too long a cord. The overload which is most likely a thermal overload is getting too hot.

SOURCE: pressure washer

You may want to remove the pump from the motor and chec the bolts for tightness. If nothing is loose then you need to purchase a repair kit which should include new o rings, pressure valves and springs as well as any gaskets you will need. The instructions should give you detailed info as to how to install everything.

Pressure washer won't start. It has gas, oil and I turned the switch to turtle and to rabbit position. Does it matter if water is on first or not? It won't start either way.

Turn the water on, hold trigger down and let water run thru the hose to prime the air out of the hose. If it still will not start check the spark plug and clean it or replace it. A bad spark plug will keep it from starting

The pump switch they spoke of is an internal switch. It is activated by a valve so that when you let go of the trigger, the machine shuts off. This valve is stuck or the switch is bad. Usually the valve is the problem. I would go to Sears and get it looked at
