SOURCE: door display freaking out

Very common, this unit was mfg by samsung for ge and maytag. Its your hi voltage control board located on the back. You might call maytag and see if they will pick up the costs for this repair. There was recently a major rework kit for the samsung and ge units, but maytag opted not to follow the same. Call them and raise heck and let them know your food costs that spoiled and that your afraid to touch it because of the actions of this ele problem.. G luck

SOURCE: Ice maker is not working

if you keep your hands out of the little beam slot on the paddel that is located on the left of the freezer and push it in the beam should shoot across to the reciever on the right and the light should stay on constant, that is if you have the switch on the right side turned on.

if it is turned on and the paddel is depressed and the light is still blinking the you need a beam kit part number 4389102

SOURCE: error message on fridge "er ff"

Error code Er FF indicates that the evaporator fan has failed, or at least is not sending a signal to the electronic controls. Open the door and see if the evaporator fan is running inside the freezer compartment. If that fan stops, then no cold air will be sent to the refrigerator compartment and it will warm up. Possible causes include bad motor, bad connection, bad electronics.

SOURCE: Water supply tube keeps freezing off water supply.

its hard to tell but most likely the valve is not closing all the way. but it could be the ice maker calling for too much.... www.whirlpoolpartssurplus.com

SOURCE: H20 dispenser displays er lf

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.
Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.

http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wkbwtkdqbqkgrkkxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ktfgsrbbdxktrrwffdr/1/1303472/5961857/image18067img-or.jpg

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.

The ice maker seems to keep pooring water into the ice maker causing excess water to run down the back of the freezer and freeze. The ice tray also has frozen water inside it. What could this be?

The water valve may be stuck or have some debris preventing it from closing all the way.

Unplug the fridge, and loosen the tubing for the icemaker at the valve.... if water comes out of the valve - it is faulty and needs replacement.

Westinghouse Model WSE6070WB*5 Error code: Cn Er

I recently had this message on my Westinghouse fridge. The CN and ER message stands for Connection Error. This is due to a power surge.
I suggest you disconnect the power cord from the powerpoint and switch off for 5 minutes.
When connecting, if you have a double power point use the other head as the initial one may be faulty and this may have caused the power surge.
Hopefully this will fix the CN ER message to disappear.

ER code on interior lcd show up & shuts off the fridge

condensers really are hot or warm.the freezing/icing is caused of blocked air passages or blocked air circulation.resetting the defrost timer sometimes do the trick.have you check your defrost timer?also, the bi-metal disk inside the evaporator or freezer is malfunctioning.this bi-metal controls the fan blower.if its open the fan is not functioning or vice-versa.have a tech to check this two parts.if not then clogging/holes in the tubes or worst motor problem. but first try the defrost timer by rotating the its knob.

GE fridge TFX24FHB mfr'd 7/86 - system check display shows "de"

This may or may not be the fix, but I had a problem with my GE Profile TFX24PR sibe-by-side. Water was leaking from the ice maker water fill tube into the back of the freezer, onto the cooling coils. This would cause the freezer to go into extended defrost and the freezer and fridge would warm up. If you see ice inside the freezer, especially around the outside of the ice bin, or odd chunks of ice in the ice bin, turn off the ice maker and/or the source water supply and see if the problem clears up. If the ice buildup is especially heavy, you may need to remove your food, and unplug and manually defrost/thaw the freezer. You may want to remove the cooling coil cover, that is the back wall of the inside of the freezer. Mine had five screws holding a thin sheet of metal, three at the top and two near the bottom. Once this is off you can see the cooling coils. Be careful not to bump or scrape the coils. At this point I found about a quart of ice frozen on top of the coils in one big chunk, stuck to many wires. I carefully broke off what ice I could, and used a hair dryer to melt the rest.

If this is the problem, then you will need to replace the ice maker water fill tube. This is a time consuming job, you have to disassmble the fan compartment on the back wall of the freezer behind the ice maker to get to the fill tube connector. Once you get there it's easy to reach and it just pushes into the connector. In my case, I just reversed the ends and pushed it back in for a snug fit. You may want to consider using a sealer to prevent it from happening again any time soon.

Refrigerator temperature can't be set to cold - sensor light shows 9C and keeps on beeping. Samsung model RB1855SL

I had this exact problem with my 4 yr old Samsung RB1855SL refrigerator. BTW, the temperature display doesn’t display higher than 9C, even when its warmer inside. The fan wasn’t turning on to circulate the cold air, although the cooling coils were still cooling. There was no excess ice build-up. The freezer was working fine.

I thought perhaps the fan was toast or the temperature sensor. Then I noticed the interior fridge light was not turning off when closing the door (but the freezer light was). BINGO—thig light switch was the problem. A small piece on the inside of the fridge side of the switch was broken. When the door was closed, the broken switch didn’t let the fridge know that the door was in fact closed, causing the door alarm to keep beeping. This must shut the fan down in order to save energy when regularly opening the door.

DIY fix: I removed the switch (until I could get a replacement) which is located to the left of the lower door hinge (right hand side). Gently, with a flat nose screw driver, I pried it out.

The light no longer turned on when opening either door but that was a small price to pay compared to the incessant beeping and rotten food. The part can’t be very expensive and I can replace it myself. The local appliance repair shop will order it for me.

No expensive “internal brain” needed to be replaced or an expensive repairman needed to be called. Good luck!
