SOURCE: lawn tractor will not start

It sounds like a stuck or unhooked safety switch. Make sure you have the blades disengaged first, then check the safety switch on the blades.

SOURCE: CTH151 lawn tractor stopped dead. Nothing happens

There are four micro switches on this mower. Go to www.gardenresources.co.uk/ Look at the bottom of the page for husqvarna tractors, then to further reading, click on husqvarna manuals, click on husqvarna ride on mowers, then click on cth151 xp. It will bring up the operator's manual in PDF format. About page 23 it should have a diagram showing the electrical part of the mower.
Hope that helps mate

if it runs while the key is turned to crank and dies when released the switch would have to be bad

SOURCE: starts when turn key but turns off when key is released

There is a ballast resistor that reduces the voltge at the coil terminals when the engine is running. When cranking the resistor is taken out of the circuit so the reduced battery voltage while cranking is sufficient for the coil to work. The resistor is most likely open. It is located on the firewall, has 2 wires going to it. It is about 4 inches long and has a metal band around it used as the mount.

When I push and hold the start button the tractor starts and stays running, if I release the start button it shuts off, if I remove the wire to the solenoid relay it stays running

It sounds like a "Load Resistor" problem, not sure if you have this type of starting system. The load resistor is in the wiring that goes to your coil after the engine has started. It is bypassed when starting to offset the loss of voltage when the starter is engaged and turning over the engine, then after the engine has started the "Load Resistor" is again in series with the points dropping the voltage slightly and providing longer point life. If this resistor burns out then you would be able to start the tractor but as soon as you released the starter foot switch the points/distributor would no longer have voltage. The Load Resistor is a large gray, brown or white colored rectangle ( 3" long and about 1/2wide aprx.) mounted on the back side of your dash panel....

I used my John Deere L110 Lawn Tractor all day yesterday. Turned the engine off, it popped. Then went to start it today and it just pops, seems like the timing is off.

throttle down your engine before turning it off . this reduces amount of fuel going into a hot engine ,just a few seconds before switching key off , should stop back firing issues.

Ford 601 tractor starting problems

Ok lets start at the start on this one. Which of the following best describes the situation?

- Turn key and nothing, no lights on dash, no noises.
- Turn Key and weak lights that flicker in start position and clicking noises
-Turn key, strong lights but little to no movement from engine or a strange noise comes when key is turned
-Turn key, strong lights, engine turns over but will not fire.

A tractor is a complex piece of machinery and something like an engine that will not start could indicate one of many problems, with some trial and error you can generally work out what the problem is be we need somewhere to start.

How can I get key out which is stuck in ignition of 2008 cobalt. It also won't start

This can happen if the battery is low / dead. To solve, connect a set of jumper cables between the battery in the Cobalt and a running car's battery. Shut off the running car. In the Cobalt, make sure all accessories (lights, radio, fan, etc.) are off. Step on the brake, then move the gear shifter fully into the PARK position. Next, either attempt to start the engine, or turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.

I hope this helps & good luck!
