Look in the fan's receiver. Make the dip switch positions the same in the remote as it is in the receiver.

How to set dip switches in hunter ceiling fan remote 85094-02

Fan switches and remote switches must "mirror" each other, otherwise fan will not operate properly or if at all. For instance: if switch 1 in remote is set "on", then switch 1 in fan must be set to "on".

Remote will not operate fan or light. Replaced battery. Remote light glows red when pressed

Check dip switches in remote and dip switches on receiver in the canopy of the fan, make sure the settings match exactly. Make sure there is power to the fan. Make sure the fan and light are not manually set to off by pullchains that may be on the fan. If the fan does have pullchains, wire it directly in (bypass the remote in the canopy) and test the functions to make sure the fan and light are working. If it works without the remote, but not with the remote, and the dip switches are set the same and you have new batteries, then the remote and receiver should be replaced.

What are the dip switch settings on my hunter fan remote currently pin 1,3,4 are plugged in

That is the code that works with your wireless remote controller. The switches should be set the same in the remote in order for the wireless remote to work.

I tried to change the remote codes on the fan and remote so it would stop turning on and off the fan in the other room but I can't get it to work.

When I changed the dip switches on the Hunter receiver, I noticed that the remote would not work when set to the new code. When I set it back to the previous code, it would work, leading me to determine that the receiver has some basic memory. The solution was to simply cut the power to the fan at the circuit breaker box and the new dip switch settings now work.

This was not described anywhere in the manual of the Hunter fan I purchased, so a slight oversight by the manufacturer.

DIP Switches don't seem to matter

You need to completely power off (wall switch or breaker) when changing the dip switches. Not just power off from remote because it will keep previous setting. I learned it the hard way....

Dip switch setting for my fan

It does not matter what the dip setting is as long as they are the same on the remote and the receiver. If you do not know the setting you will have to remove the fan mounting cover and pull the receiver out. Open the receiver and see what the dip setting is. Then set the remote to the same setting.

No dip switch in Hunter 27157 remote control.

Those aren't transistors in the transmitter they are jumpers. Match the jumper settings with your dip switch settings in the receiver. You can move the jumpers in the transmitter using a small needle nose pliers. An open jumper in the transmitter equals an OFF setting on the dip switch in the receiver.

Good luck!

Dip switch settings

I've had the same problem w/ light turning on/off. Called customer support and 3x waited 6 minutes to leave message and get no call back. Finally got a human and she told me to change code in receiver and transmitter. This was no easy task as the fan is very high up and the stupid thing needs to come down to adjust the receiver. Changed the setting and it worked for two days until it started back with the lights turning on at all hours. I noticed there's a toggle switch in the remote that is not explained in the manual. It says CFL on one side and INC on the other. The light will NOT dim if it's in CFL and tonight is the first time I've switched it to that setting. I'm hoping this is some kind of lockout for random signals going out of the remote...It would be nice to have a proper explanation in the manual. I should have gone with another Casablanca fan--Hunter products are lame.

Hunter Remote Control # 27185

Do not use the factory default position in either fan. Double check the dip switches, and make sure they are the same for each individual receiver and remote.Different codes for each. Dip switches are the oppsite direction in the remote for some reason?
