It is normal to see air bubbles in line when pumping the bulb. to make sure what the problem is, try starting several times, remove spark plug. if dry, yes no fuel, remove the carb. if wet, place plug on engine block and look for blue spark. no spark means you need new plug, plug cord or ignition module

How to adjust carburetor

no adjustments possible, use fresh gas/oil mix 40:1. Check carb primer bulb for cracks and fuel lines. Excess air can cause high rev and surging.

Fuel hose to the gas tank has broken as well as the primer hose has broken

Check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old. Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 40:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 3.2 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Always use the proper oil/gas mix. If you do not, your engine will suffer rapid, permanent damage. May need to clean or replace carburetor, fuel lines, and fuel filter.

Do I mix the gas with 2 cycle oil for the homelite mighty lie 26vt gas grass trimmer and what is ratio I need?

Your MightyLite trimmer requires a 50:1 fuel mix. Use a high quality 2 cycle oil that is made for lawn equipment. Do not use outboard boat oil...it will cause your trimmer to run too hot. If you use the mix that has fuel stabilizer in it, then the bottle will be 3.2 ounces. Use one 3.2 ounce per gallon of gasoline.
Good luck!

Toro proline model 53030 how do you install line and what size line? also what gas do i use ? thnks

they are usually .60 or .80. mm line size. You use any gasoline that is FRESH ONLY! I can not over stress how many problems that saves you over time. But for that model (and many like it) you must understand its a 2 cycle engine (or 2 stroke) now this is VERY IMPORTANT. Gasoline alone in any 2 stroke engine will destroy it if used alone, without mixing special "2 cycle or 2 stroke" oil with it. Look at the gas cap, or a sticker or a label on the trimmer and you will see a 2 cycle oil to gasoline ratio indication number. That means what it implies, and yes, you mix the two together. Common mix ratios are typically 30:1 (30 parts gas to 1 part oil) Some vary up to 50:1 some as low as 25:1. If its not on the trimmer try the owners manual ITS THERE! generally that means a 2.5 ounce bottle of 2 cycle oil (Not Car Motor oil! There is a big difference in performance for 2 cycle motors. You need to mix 2 cycle oil types only) poured into a 1 gallon container of gas. Shake it up, fill your trimmer with that. Here look at this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuGfDNH6fXk&feature=related (Copy and paste it into your browser'd address bar, then hit enter.) They will show you all you need to know on how to restring the line.

Echo gt 2000 wont start

Mix the fuel/oil ratio an ounce of two cycle oil to a quart of gasoline or 4oz of two cycle oil per gallon of gasoline. I don't think that the fuel mix is the problem though. Check the screen at the exhaust port and clean out any carbon build-up found there. I would clean or replace the in-tank fuel filter as well. Anyway, hope this helped and best wishes.

My string trimmer will not start

Possible solutions:
-Kill switch is shorted out-check the wire and connections.
-Buy a new plug.
-Primer bulb needs to be replaced.
-Fuel filter needs to be replaced, and it's located inside the gas tank so it's a bit tricky to replace.
-Try starting it without the air filter attached.

Is it possible an incorrect mix of gas/oil was used (or straight gas) which in turn ruined the motor?

Poulan weedeater

So your weed eater fails to start. Is the unit fueled up? Since it's a two stoke the gasoline must be mixed with two stroke oil. The mix ratio is 40 to 1. That's 40 parts gasoline to 1 part oil. If there is fuel in the gas tank now, how old is it? If the unit was stored incorrectly the gasoline may have gone bad and gummed up the carburetor. If this is the case, the old gasoline will smell like varnish and the carburetor need to be overhauled and cleaned.
