I have the most current version of iTunes and my iPod 7th generation Nano has been updated. I switched from Dell to MacBook. Now I cannot sync my iPod with iTunes! Why

Try reinstalling itunes and restarting the PC with the device not plugged in. Then when it boots back up econnect the iPod, it should resolve your issue.

Are you saying, that you want to know if you can use your old iTunes that you had for your shuffle, on your new ipod? If so, the answer is yes. Copy your itunes music on a pordable disk. When you plug your ipod into your computer, it will recogonize that it is a different ipod. A box will come up and ask you if you want to have a new library. Click yes and then you will have a new library. Put your disk(s) in and copy them over to your itunes.

I hope this helps, but I'm sorry if it doesn't. I didn't exactly get what you were saying. I haven't exactly tried this, but I think it will work. Please rate my solution.

You'd better cleanup your iTunes library firstly. Just click "View > Show Duplicate Items" and then you would just check off the duplicates that you wanted to remove. After removed all the duplicates in your iTunes, sync it to your iPod, then all duplicates in your iPod will be removed automatically.

How do I get ios 7 on the iPod nano?


Hi there!
The iPod nano 7G doesn't support IOS7.
The latest firmware available is 1.0.3, which you can get by connecting your iPod to iTunes.

P.S. 7G and IOS7 may sound like the same, but there's a huge difference among these two.
7G refers to 7th iteration of iPod nano line-up
IOS7 refers to the 7th iteration of the operating system meant for iPhone/iPad/iPod touch (devices with bigger screens and beefier processors)

3rd Generation iPod Touch


The third generation of iPods includes iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch and iPod Nano. Installing the latest software for each of these models involves the same process and requires the latest version of iTunes to perform. The 3rd generation iPod Touch uses the same iOS 4 operating system that the iPhone uses. You can download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website for free. With iTunes, you can install the most up-to-date software on any 3rd generation iPod for free as well.

Download iTunes from the Apple website or check for the latest update by clicking "Help" at the top of the screen. Scroll down to "Check for Updates." Open iTunes either by clicking its icon in the Start menu or by connecting your iPod to your computer with the sync cable. This cable looks like an ordinary USB cable with a special attachment on the end that plug into your iPod. If you have lost your original cable, you will need to purchase a replacement. Any type of iPod sync cable will work, as long as it is compatible with your 3rd generation model. Wait for iTunes to update or restore your iPod automatically. Enter your iPod's name in the top field when you are prompted. Check the box next to "Automatically update songs on my iPod" if you want iTunes to sync your hard drive's playlist with your iPod every time you plug in your iPod. Select your iPod from the "Source" list on the left side of the screen if you need to update your software. This will take you to a screen with links to iPod software updates. Click on "Check for Update" to look for the most up-to-date iPod software, and click "Download" and "Install" to install the software. Do not unplug your iPod during installation. Check the box next to "Automatically copy photos to my iPod" to sync a photo folder on your hard drive with an iPod with a color screen.   • Check system requirements. - iPod nano (5th generation) requires the following minimum versions of Windows: either Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later), Vista or Windows 7. If you have one of these versions of Windows, verify that Windows is fully up to date by downloading and installing software updates from Microsoft. If you have Windows XP with Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2, download and install Service Pack 3 using Windows Update.

  • iTunes online? - Confirm that iTunes has been downloaded and installed.

  • AMDS online? - iPod nano requires Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS), which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, click Start > Control Panel. Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs. If it is not, remove and reinstall iTunes.

  • Check USB connection. - Disconnect all USB devices from the system with the exception of the iPod nano and any USB keyboard and mouse. Then restart your computer. Verify that you are using a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Test with an alternate iPod USB cable if one is available.

  • AMDS - Re-verify that AMDS is running and installed.

  • iTunes usage - Remove and reinstall iTunes.

Can't restore to default. receiveing iPod error


Resolution If you are experiencing these errors, begin by updating to the latest version of iTunes. When you have the current version of iTunes, try the following:
  • Disconnect and reconnect your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Restart your computer and then attempt to restore your iPod.
  • Disable or Enable Disk Use on your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port and then attempt to restore.
  • Remove any third-party USB devices you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse).
  • If you use Windows, re-register .dll files as described in article iTunes displays -50 error message when syncing iPod on Windows XP
  • For Windows users, update or reinstall your Windows USB drivers.
Additional Information Note: If you have an iPod shuffle you may need to use the iPod Reset Utility to restore the iPod. If you are not sure which iPod you have, see Apple Support document Identifying iPod models.

I have a nano 3rd generation ipod and can not sync my ipodcasts that are downloaded onto the ipod. This became a problem after updating to the latest version of itunes!


Go and uninstall Itunes and download the version before the newest one and see if that fixes your problem. Apple should have that issues fixed with there system at some point.
