SOURCE: I have an Electrolux Epci 3500 Sr upright vacuum

The switch is replaceable, so you don't need to replace the complete handle assembly. I've got a 3500 that I replaced the switch on and it works great now. You can get a new switch at the local Aerus Electrolux store. To find the nearest store, just follow the directions on the below site.
I do recommend letting the service tech do the replacement.

It keeps dying even after being charged.

You need a new battery. I could describe how to rebuild the old one if you are so inclined to do that type of thing. It would save you some money over buying a new one. It looks like it is a specialized piece of cleaning equipment and buying a replacement battery would be fairly expensive.

Cant charge it the red light blinks fast when i push power button

I had the same problem but discovered on opening up the unit that the motor was a bit stiff to turn. I therefore prised off the fan and removed the waterproof shroud only to discover some corrosion on the front bearing. A drop of WD40 did the job and now its working again good as new.

Karcher will not turn on

Check to be sure that the GFI on the plug is not tripped. If that is ok, try turning the motor a little - use a screwdriver, stick it through the fan housing and move the fan 90 degrees. Then try turning it on. If it starts, the problem is with the motor starting to go bad.

My little green machine won't dispurse the water. what could be wrong?

You can disassemble the unit and check to see if the pump motor has seized.

the motor has a black, red and green wire attached, is encased in a plastic housing, and is right next to the vacuum assembly. Don't cut the line attached to the plastic housing, you don't need to and it can be a pain to reattach later. just slide the whole white housing up towards the black vacuum assembly, and undo the wire leads attached to the motor, they just pull off (make sure it's not plugged in) making sure to note which wire attaches to which lead... i marked each lead with a colored marker to be sure.

Use a pair of pliers to turn the drive shaft if it has seized, and be sure not to lose the small rubber o-ring that sits around the shaft. Lubricate at the base where the drive shaft meets the motor with just a drop of 3-in-1 electric motor oil and then reassemble the housing, attach the leads, seat the motor back into the seating (make sure the bottom nozzle goes into the green water feed coupler!) and reassemble the case.

worked well for me, if it still doesn't work you could buy a new pump and install it. they go for around $10 on ebay and

Hello georod01,

Pretty simple problem and you have a few options.. first off.. If you take the fan/motor assembly out of the housing ( meaning : unplug the motor ... power off of course... and remove the sheetmetal screws that secure the mount that holds the fan/motor to the housing.....) You may have already done this... On some models, there is a set screw that secures the fan to the motor shaft.. you may be able to snug that up to stop the wobble... If the motor is OK and the fan is spinning but making contact with the housing.. It may not be centered in the housing so you may be able to better orient it..
If that fails to solve your problem, you can get a fan/motor assembly at home depot and either transfer it from the new bracket to the original ( if they are different).. or transfer just the fan blade onto the old motor... I think it costs about $8 - $12 for that and they are not usually easy to find but they do sell them...try the plumbing section...
As for suitability in an insulated area.. you should have no problems unless you put the wrong bulb size in the holder.. most of them have an over-temp cutoff sensor built in.. The fan motor is not much of a heat source... Hope that helps...

Oreck xl 9100 how to replace the fan

I just replaced the fan (plastic) on an XL9100. I assume you got the bottom plate off (5 screws).

Undo the single screw holding the suction housing in place.

Remove the two screws holding the motor in place and gently lift the assemble up, being careful not to stress the wires. The motor and fan assembly should now be exposed. If the nut holdling fan in place is removed, the whole fan should slide right off. If it does not, try a little WD-40 on the shaft and wiggle and move from side to side. (I slipped a small drill bit between the motor fan (motor cooling fan) to prevent the shaft from turning when you remove the nut.) Be sure you turn the nut counter-clockwise to remove it.

You should now have the fan off. Reverse the procedure to place the new fan - following the directions carefully as some assemblies need a washer and "feathered" washer on the top.

Assuming everything went well, it should work.

My 9100 sucked a magnetic bearing and trashed the metal fan to where suction was weak. The new fan works great.
