You've solved for some of the equation. Spark. Fuel. Air.....all in the proper sequence. Now, what condition are the plugs ? I'd change them out if they have any wetness to them. Check your fuses as well. Another thing is the 'safety switches' - located in seat, on parking brake, etc. One of these could have come undone or gone bad/loose wire. I'm thinking the latter....

This is definitely a timing problem.
Simply, it is either, too far advanced, or too far retarded.
The first thing I would check, would be the plug.
Clean it up if it's in need, and just check the gap.
If it's too tight, or too far open, that could explain it.
Otherwise, it will be the spacing on the magneto. Either open the gap, or close the it.

Check and see if it has an anti-backfire solenoid in the front of the carb.If it does and the solenoid has power then you need to replace it.
