SOURCE: how long to cook a turkey

It's a slow cooker so I put mine on low, when to work and about 9.5 hrs later, all came out fine. Only thing I should have done was put the cooker in big pan to catch the some of the drippings that came out. Experiment! Or call Hamilton Beach, they might have a different answer.

SOURCE: nu wave oven no power in heating part

It doesn't work at all If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these: Fuses Door switch Fuses Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it. Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work. It sounds normal, but there's no heat When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem. To resolve this problem, you need the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

I have a 24 pound turkey that I want to cook in the roaster oven over night. Can this be done and how?

You can, but cooking overnight will ruin the turkey. The bird will be overcooked and literally fall apart. The term is called 'cooking to rags'. The bre asttt meat will be very dried out.

Unstuffed is only 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Stuffed is 5 to 5 1/2 hours. I only stuff the neck end. Another tip is to cook the turkey bre asttt down. If you do it that way, all the juices from the fattier part of the turkey, the legs and thighs bastes the bre asttt as it cooks. If you cook it this way once, you will do it every year. Turn the bird over to carve it once it has rested for 20 minutes. Tent it with foil. Put folded foil over the wings. I am a trade masterchef.

How long do i cook a 13 lb. turkey and at what oven temperature

What temperature do you cook a 13 pound turkey at?
After about 3 hours, insert an oven-safe thermometer deep into the thigh without touching the bone. Begin checking the turkey for doneness about 30 minutes before the recommended cook time. Your turkey is done when the temperature with a meat thermometer is 180° F in thigh and 165° F in middle or stuffing.

How do I defrost a turkey in the microwave

If you're feeling brave-and if your oven is cavernous enough-it's also possible to defrost your turkey in the microwave. You need to zap the bird on a low-to-medium energy setting for at least 6 minutes per pound (two hours for a 20-pound bird), being sure to rotate it occasionally from top to bottom and end to end. Because it's possible that the microwaveicon1.png will start cooking certain portions of the turkey, it's necessary to start cooking the bird in a traditional oven immediately after defrosting.

New Rival 22qt. Roaster Oven

If you want to use it for food tomorrow, you need to burn it in tonight; 1 hour or longer at 400 degrees, outside but protected, to burn off the factory oils, etc. If you cook in it without doing this, you will ruin the food (and the atmosphere) with bad smells.

This turkey is really bigger than Rival recommends for this roaster, so check the size/fit tonight, also. You need an inch all around for best cooking.

I use 325, not 375 as the Rival manual suggests, 4 hours for an unstuffed 18 pounder.

Can you cook a stuffed turkey in the roater oven

Yes, similar timewise to a regular oven. But it depends on the size of the turkey, if stuffed you definitely want to check the fit- you need about an inch all around including the top to get good cooking. Any place it touches the sides it will tend to overcook.

The Rival manual suggested 375 for pre basted or 350 for fresh 9-14 minutes per pound. In my experience this is too hot. I use 325 for 4 to 4 3/4 hours at 325 for an 18 pound unstuffed turkey; a 21 pounder takes about 35-45 minutes more. The USDA now uses 165 as the end point temp (down quite a bit from a few years ago), but if you stuff, that has to be in the middle of the stuffing, and the turkey will overcook somewhat while it gets there. It adds about 1-2 minutes per turkey pound if stuffed.

All experts agree that turkeys cook better and safer if unstuffed, so considering that you will have to make an extra pan of stuffing to have it for everyone, you would be well advised to cook your turkey unstuffed and use some of the drippings to flavor the pan of stuffing while the turkey rests.

Breaker flipped on my oven while cooking a turkey

If the oven was still slightly warm to the touch when you came home is probably fine. 45 minutes was not enough time to get the turkey hot down near the bone, so if it was cool I would discard it. But if you were lucky and it was still warm, go ahead.

Big 18 pound turkey and no manual

Place turkey on trivit in roaster and add 2 cups oof water. place lid on roaster and seal edge with foil. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.  Place in oven for one hour and turn oven off and go to bed.  Turkey will cook while temperature is coasting down.  Turkey will be still warm in the morning.  We have been doing this for several years and always comes out golden brown and juicey.  Do not stuff bird while cooking.
