SOURCE: Bad Disc

First determine where the problem lies. This can be done by analyzing what is happening. Is the disc spinning. Is it spinning erratically? If the disc is not spinning, the spin motor is probably defective. But sometimes you can be fooled, if the laser does not detect information of the disc, it will not issue a start spin motor command. If you can get the unit to work with the door open by defeating the switches,(Do not under any circumstances look directly into the laser)If you see the laser then the spin motor is bad, In either case the unit is is probably cheaper to replace than to repair. SOURCE: DVD Player stops reading disc Error message :

usually this happens when lens cannot read the the disc. Due to few reason 1 Your disk is scratched 2 Your DVD lens is covered with dust 3 You need to replace DVD lens
Try another few CD/DVD to rectify whether there is any problem with dvd you are trying to play
if this error occurs on all the dvd you played then the most likely proble is with your DVD lens either its coverd with dust use Disk cleaner if not you got to replace a new DVD lense as per model

Blaupunkt tv/dvd...dvd is not reading the disc

Most likely the disc is badly scratched or is a format not compatible to the player. Commercial DVD? Or home-burned DVD-R? They are totally different formats. DVDs can be made using many different audio and video CODECS. Players are designed with support for specific CODECS and will not recognize others.

My dvd player ejects the cd when i load it

Either the reading head on the laser is dirty or bad and it is not recognizing the CD. If it is a homemade CD there might be a formatting problem that is not compatible with your player

My Dvd player will not format discs

If it is a DVD player, not a recorder, then it is not meant to format discs. DVD players are strictly playback only; they can only read and play discs; they cannot be formatted or recorded in any DVD player.

Can not read dvd format

The player uses a different laser to read dvd's in respect to cd's. Either there's dust on the laser (or lens) and it needs cleaning or the dvd laser unit is busted - it can't be fixed, junk it and buy a new one.

Hitachi dvd player not reading all dvds

Hello, I'm here try and help your problem, first older DVD players only read certain disc formats, If you have your owners manuel to your DVD player it will tell you what types of discs the DVD player will play. There are seneral types of burnable disc's DVD -, DVD +, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, please looking in the owners manual for the types of discs that the player will read, also in the same secton it will tell the types of formats that it will read DVD Video, DVD ROM, and there is a few others, Next is when you burn DVD's the type of burner you have makes a difference. You will need to find out what format your DVD burn, burns to disc, some of the newer DVD players
read alot of the formats. I would start by finding out what your DVD burns first, then I would suggest buying a DVD player that will read that format. If you have anyother questions please feel free to post them, Thank You and have a great day.
