Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

I am a grandpa and make things for my children and grandchildren. My concern is which products are safer for small children, and which products are safer for utensils, cookware, and decorative uses.

My grandchildren range in age from 4 months to 18 years old. My children are all over 21 (some are considerably over).

SOURCE: Same Problem Again - Mega Raid.... Unknown Error

Hi

The title of your post suggests that you have "Maga RAID" errors. Maga RAID messages would be in line with issues on the LSI PERC sub-system.

However, the extract posted in your suggests network problems.

Any number of physical to driver and configuration issues can result in network problems.

Try the basic checks;
1. Change or try a known patch cable
2. Run "ping" test to a known good system connected to same network switch or direct connect with a "cross-over" cable and check for dropped connections.
3. Is the NIC and switch set to Auto-Negotiation or static at 10, 100 or 1000Mbps speed
4. Can you try another switch
5. Check and load correct or latest manufacture's drivers

Reply with more info.

You don't have that smart stuff for weight. You can't turn it off. If you don't think they should be in front, because of age or height. Put them in back. I haven't seen a van yet that had this option.

First thing to do is open another email account so that you have more than one. Use the primary account for business only, open another for family messaging, and open one more for all others. This will solve the issue of having to enter your business or family email when you have to put down an email to open a webpage or enter a contest or respond to an offer. Outlook and gmail both have especially efficient spam filters and are recommended.

Can anyone recommend a good book about knitting with children?

I bought a lovely book for my grandchildren that has a range of knitting projects from very basic to a bit more complicated. They loved it - the boys too.

Children hit developmental stages at various rates. So what your child is or isn't doing will be different from other children. You didn't specify the age of your son, but I wouldn't get worried yet about him not standing up or holding himself up. When he's ready, he'll do it. Don't be concerned...he'll be fine. Good luck!

Hi there. The majority of electrical apparatus use cords that contain a small quantity of lead.
This metal is dangerous if ingested, and should not be a main concerned if handled, providing that you wash your hands afterward.

I quote what American Cancer Society says:

Many electrical wires and cables have small amounts of lead in their outside insulation (surface covering), which can rub off on the hands of people who touch the wires. People can be exposed to lead by ingesting it, so if they eat or put their hands in their mouths without washing up after handling these wires, they can take in small amounts of lead. The bigger hazard is likely to be to toddlers and babies who put wires in their mouths. Since they crawl around on the floor, it can be challenging to keep them away from wires. How can I avoid exposure (and protect children in the house)?
  • The most important point to avoid exposure is to wash your hands after handling the electrical cords to avoid swallowing any lead that rubs off onto them.
  • Don't eat or feed children while handling lead-containing cords or stringing holiday lights.
  • Since small children are more likely to put cords, fingers, and other objects in their mouths, keep lead-containing wires out of their reach.
  • Children are more affected by lead (see ACS document, Lead), and should always have their hands washed before handling food and eating.
