By unit, do you mean the stove or do you mean where you live? If the former, then call a repair person. If the latter, check your main switch isn't tripped.

Panasonic NN-SD277. Almost 3 years old. We pressed start, it went for about a second (may have made a sparking sound) and then it just lost all power. There is still power to microwave but no lights are...

We also have this same microwave. It is less than 3 years old. We've had nothing but problems since we purchased it. In November 2010, the microwave made a crackling sound and then BOOM! Nothing. I have been back and forth with Panasonic. I refuse to pay for the repair on an appliance that is less than 3 years old. It's ridiculous!

Anyway, the problem t is an issue with their inverters. Google it and you will find page after page of the same story.

Microwave dead

one of 3 things, for sure the internal fuse is gone, then check for a: bad Hi-Voltage;diode, Hi-Voltage capacitor, or the magnetron tube is defective, none are too hard to change out,but the magnetron is fairly expensive to replace:

Power went out while cooking. Now light, and fan doesn't work either. Could there be a fuse?

Assuming that you have checked the voltage/breaker at the unit, There is a fuse located behind the user interface. You must exercise caution in this area as there is a high potential for harm due to the capacitor having been energized. If you are not comfortable/experienced handling high voltage, then I would strongly recommend calling for service. Hope this helps... Bill

Microwave is 16 years old. Replaced it. Service call was going to be half the cost of a new one with no assurance that problem could be fixed once it was diagnosed.

Reset Microwave after a Power Outage

If its part of the house your renting, call the landlord as its most likly a control panel went bad, and in this unit, thats probably going to exceed the cost of the microwave oven. If its a rental oven, take it back.
