SOURCE: Z-5300 blown fuse

When fuses blow theres a problem, now how it blows help you find out where the problem is, If the fuse flashes and turns black the second you turn it on or plug it in there is a massive short in the power supply, If it blows but is clear the surge was not a dead short but a overload, Either way best to run it down to the shop and get it looked at

SOURCE: always blows fuses

I would get a volt/ohm/continuity meter to test the connections. You have a short somewhere. You can take it Car Auto or Tweeter and they can check it for you. Some of these places charge a $35.00 diagnostic fee. If you have a schematic diagram, you can test where the short might be.

Might have a pinched wire creating a shot circuit which in turn blows the fuse?
Or maybe there is a dodgy/unprotected wire connection/solder creating a short?

05 monte carlo no sound from speakers but raido shows its on and fine

If you have an extra speaker lying around you could wire it in by unplugging one speaker and seeing if it works. You have a fuse on passenger side fuse box for the amplifier. Check to see if its blown. A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

External Speaker hookup problem. I hooked up 2 external speakers (8 ohm, 160 watt) into my Marshall AVT 50 amp (tag on back says 4 ohm minimum). Everything worked fine, then I shut it down and now (next...

If you are competent with electronics, open it up and check the fuse(s). Especially if no lights come on. If you get voltage, then check the jacks you plugged into- they may have dirty interrupt contacts. When you plug the jack in- it opens those contacts that otherwise are closed making the circuit to the cabinet's built in speaker. Contact cleaner should clean them up if that is the issue.

While it is possible there is a power supply issue, you can see that quick with a voltmeter, it is not likely you did much more than blow a fuse.- very possible if you unplugged speakers with the amp operating..

If you think you killed it- you usually still get distorted noise.

I hook up my amp with no speakers on it but keeps blowing the fuses on main fuse block coming off batt. what could it be and how much to fix

Fuses blow like that when there's an overload. This is often caused by a semiconductor device that is acting like it is a piece of wire. The most common fault in amps is the devices on the heatsink, that power the speakers. The cost will depend on how much the devices are and how many have gone.

Did you know there is a fuse on the back of the radio and one on the amp? Have you checked them? If the radio is working and no ssound it could be the radio, speakers or wiring. In your case it sounds like either the radio or speakers.

Problem with subs and amp

I would first suggest un-hooking the subs, and hooking them up to another known good radio other than the one its hooked to now. Just to make sure you didnt blow the speakers. What is the wattage of the subs? Then if the speakers do work I would hook them up bypassing the amp just to see if the problem exist before or after. Come back after doing this. Thanks

Avr 3802 can i hook up 2 sets of front speakers

well depending on the wattage of the speakers your trying to hook up to the amp if they exeed the maximum wattage then theres a chance u *could* blow a fuse nothing more then that, a fuse protects more expsinsive devices in ur amp, an if ur system keeps blowing fuses after doing that add up the watts 2 all ur speakers,
and remove the less needed
Hope you find this usfull

Try disconnecting the speaker that you added. If the sound comes back, then you're ok. Just don't add any more speakers. If not, then it's possible the amp is blown.

Too many speakers connected together to one output can cause an overload and either blow a fuse or trigger the protection circuitry. If the protection is triggered or blows a fuse with all speakers disconnected, then your amp is shot.

Hopefully, that's not the case. Try disconnecting all the speakers and see what happens. If you still get the error, then the amp is gone.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice.
Thank you, and good luck!!
