SOURCE: PT-LC50E LCD Projector
With power available at the projector and the lamp off (projector off) - hold the input button on and press the power button on and hold for 5 secs. This will reset the lamp timer to zero.
I wish they could have stuck this in the operators manual.

If memory serves me correctly, there is an OSD button on the projector itself. Press that once. You may have turned off the OnScreen Display feature. If that fails to resolve the problem, please let me know and I'll look up your specific model.

Press the MENU button. Use the < > arrows to get to the OPTION menu. Press the ENTER button. Select LAMP RUN TIME. Press and hold the ENTER button for about 3 seconds. The 'lamp time reset' will display. Press OK and press the ENTER button. This will reset the lamp hours as well as turn off the projector.

This is a 2005 model; it sounds like you have a burnt optical light engine: part number is
TZSC03047 Part is about 800 dollars and requires tech approval from Panasonic to buy. A number of these optical engines use an elaborate system of lens---the heat from the lamp can damage the lens and the color that is damaged separates enough inside to cause the blue streak somewhere on the screen. I hope you have an extended warranty on this set.
I do this here for free so if this has helped you give me a vote here.

Testimonial: "Excellent response and explanation, this is what I was leaning towards as I replaced lamp twice. Thank you very much."
1.Press the MENU button to display the menu screen, and
then press the F or G button to select the OPTION menu.
2. Press the ENTER button, and then press the F or G button
to select LAMP RUNTIME.
3. Press and hold the ENTER button for approximately
3 seconds. The confirmation screen, “LAMP RUNTIME
RESET.” is displayed and select OK.
4. Turn off the power.
This will reset the cumulative usage time for the lamp
unit to zero.
***Here you go and best of luck!***
