How to get grand total of the month on sharp cash register ER-2385
I can't believe we still have a book for this one - the ER2385 began production in 1987!
Most business owners take their totals daily. You probably have, too, by turning the key to Z1 and touching
. CA/AT (I hope you can the decimal point in front of the CA/AT. It's essential.)
To take monthly totals, do exactly the same thing, but in the X2/Z2 position.
Note that these totals are monthly only because you print them monthly. If you do it every Saturday night, you'll get weekly totals. The register prints totals that have accumulated since the last time you took a Z2 reading. It's up to you to make them monthly by taking them monthly.
So, on January 31 take your usual nightly total, then the Z2 total. Taking the daily one first ensures that today is included in the month.
Skipping the decimal point before the CA/AT will give you an X2 total. The same numbers will be printed, but they won't be cleared back to zero. That's fine if you want to see your totals so far, without messing them up, but if you forget it at the end of January, then February's totals will include both months. The same rule applies to daily totals. Use the decimal point if you want the numbers cleared.
While the CA/AT key gives the familiar department totals, other readings are available.
PLU gives your PLU totals, if you use them. (X1 and Z1 only)
#/TM gives totals for each hour of the day (X1 and Z1 only)
SBTL gives a total for each day of the month (X2/Z2 only)
