I looked at the manual and the description seems pretty reasonable to me. I would like to help you, so can you tell me more specifically where your setup fails? Since you have comcast cable, you should follow the instructions for Dynamic IP (DHCP), unless you've got a static IP address from comcast assigned. Come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

To configure your router for Cable you will need to set your router's WAN (INTERNET) port to 'Dynamic IP' (DHCP) option. The router is set to this option by default.

Configuration steps:

Step 1 Connect the cable modem to the WAN (INTERNET) port of your router. If the modem has USB connection make sure that it is NOT connected to any computers via the USB cable and that the modem is switched to Ethernet (not USB). Only the modem's Ethernet port should be connected to the router's WAN (INTERNET) port.
Connect your computer(s) to the router's LAN port(s) or establish connection to it wirelessly.

Step 2 Open your Internet Explorer and log into your router by typing in its IP address (in most cases the default IP is http://192.168.0.1 ). Note that you do not have to be on the Internet in order to access this address because you are just connecting to your router's address. Specify username and password for your router, default is `admin' for both.

Step 3 After logging into the router select Setup. Set Internet Connection to 'Dynamic IP (DHCP)' option.
Setup'.

- Select the MAC Cloning option. Click on Clone MAC Address button. Do this from the computer which the cable modem was directly connected to the last time. This will place the MAC address of your computer into the router. Save settings and reboot the router. Reboot your cable modem as well.

- Log in to the router and go to Status page. Note what IP address it is getting on the WAN (INTERNET) interface. If the IP address you see under WAN (INTERNET) appears to be in the same range you are using on your network (e.g. 192.168.0.x), you will need to change the range you are using on your LAN to something different, e.g. 192.168.88.x. You can do this on your router under Setup > LAN Setup. Note that after changing the IP of your router you will only be able to access it through its new IP, e.g. 192.168.88.1.

- Uninstall your antivirus/firewall software (sometimes disabling or closing the software is not enough) and reboot your PC. After establishing the Internet connection through the router, reinstall your antivirus/firewall software.

How to reinstall

Wi-Fi connection will afford you greater latitude in Internet use.
Wires will not be necessary, so you can establish your PC in any room or area of your home or office and still stay connected to the Internet.
Fortunately, you only need a wireless router, broadband modem, and ethernet cable to make this Wi-Fi connection.
Disconnect your modem from the wall socket it's plugged into.
Connect the ethernet cable to the back of the modem.
There is a clearly marked ethernet port here.
This port will appear to be an oversized telephone jack.
Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the back of the wireless router.
This port will look exactly the same as the one on the rear of the modem.
Plug the broadband modem back up to the wall socket and wait for it to power on, initialize and detect its new connection to the wireless router.
Locate the manual that shipped with your wireless router.
Find the URL, or web address, that is contained within the pages of this manual.
This special web address is used to set up your router's network and security permissions.
Also, be sure to locate the default password provided within the pages of the manual.
Enter the URL into your web browser and allow the page to load.
When prompted, enter the password that you found within the instruction manual.
Begin setting up your new wireless network.
You will be asked for an "SSID," which is just a moniker for your new network.
This will be the name seen when the network is listed in an available network list.
Choose whatever name you like.
Select a password for your new network.
While encrypting your network is optional, it is highly recommended. Along with the password, choose "WPA" security encryption.
"WEP" will also be an option but it is an older security protocol that is technologically inferior to WPA.
Click "Apply" to save your changes.
Click on the wireless icon on the right-hand side of the bottom toolbar on your PC's desktop. Select your network's SSID from the drop-down list.
Enter the password you chose for your network.
You will now be connected to WiFi Internet on your PC desktop and free to browse the Web.

I need the pass word for my router, I do not know the password, and I would like to be able to use my tablet. My laptop is down and needs repair so I can not get the info from there please help

If you do not have the password you can reset the wireless access point by pushing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds or so. You can reconfigure the SSID and security code, password. I have a Zonet Router that I am hooking up to Comcast DSL internet. i show that i am connected but i can not get online. i duplicated the MAC address i just dont know what else can be wrong. is there a...

The first thing is that Comcast is Not a DSL connection it is Cable connection. Now first make sure that your computer will be able to go on line when connected directly to the modem. Connect your main computer directly to the comcast modem and check if that goes on line. If not then you will need to contact Comcast and get main computer on line. If it is online then reset your router for 30 seconds. release the reset and wait for 1 minute. Now connect the main computer to the router and comcast modem to the router. open the set up page and Clone the MAC address of the " Main " computer.
power cycle the modem and the router. See if it works.
