Simpson SWT704. I want to use the main drive motor for another purpose. Does anyone know the connections? Red/ White/ Blue plus capacitor separate.

SOURCE: Convergence not lining up

Sounds like the green is out of focus. If the focus control for the green does not control it enough to make the width the same as the red, then, the lens on top of the green can be adjusted to focus that tube. On the lens, there is a wing nut on a screw to loosen it and move the lens left or right a bit to help with the focus. Hope this helps.

Motor Wiring
Old Motor
Brown wire is Start
Yellow wire is run or Power
Black wire is High Speed or Common
The other two taps are speed taps, but you have a single speed application
And high speed is what you need ,that’s why there’s not any wires
on Red and Blue if high speed was to much then you would move the
Black wire to one of the other taps RED low speed or Blue Medinm speed
New Motor
White goes to the Yellow wire from the capacitor
Black goes to the Black wire you took off of high speed on old motor
Of course both Brown wires go to the capacitor and Green to ground
If a capacitor doesn’t discharge it doesn’t mean it’s bad
but the capacitors don’t last as long as they used.
Any time you put in a new motor always replace the capacitor
It will save you a lot of time and grief later on.

Table fan winding&connection daigram


  • I have a Bionaire brand table electric fan.
    • It has a 3 speed fan motor.
    • The electric motor is a BM-122 Decomin brand 3 speed motor.
      • There are 6 wires:
        • Red wire.
        • Black wire.
        • White wire.
        • Yellow wire.
        • Gray wire.
        • Blue wire.
          • The motor has a 4mu 250volt capacitor.
  • This fan has an oscillating grill with independent sync motor, and timer circuit.
  • Something was wrong with the solid state circuitry (everything worked but the motor!), but a quick test of the motor indicated it does work.
  • The motor uses a start and run capacitor.
  • I decided to change controls to a simple mechanical switch and fore go for now anything beyond 3 speeds.
  • The printed circuit board shows the following connections:
    • Black wire
    • Blue wire
    • Yellow wire
      • Are respective for the:
        • High fan motor speed
        • Medium fan motor speed
        • Low fan motor speed
  • I think the gray wire goes out to the oscillator motor.
    • The Red wire is marked as Line, for the power source.
  • All wires are in continuity with each other EXCEPT RED is not with any other wire. How to Verify Fan Motor Wiring Connections
    • Checking the Motor and Capacitor Connections
    • Double check your connections using the fan wiring diagrams.
    • You should see that there is a separate motor winding for high speed.
      • The concern is that there is a capacitor for the motor.
      • So I'm thinking that the motor may have to start with the slower speeds first.
      • and not start in the high speed because the motor or capacitor has not been designed for that type of operation.

Hi joe,

Those wires are and need to mount on a capacitor that should be mounted to the side of the washer motor. This capacitor is a start capacitor for the motor, without it this will not run or start. Now plug those wire into the capacitor and if its a good capacitor it will run. Good Luck

most motors have black high speed power, red medium, blue low and white to power. no white? use the yellow Brown with a white stripe to fan on the capacitor or both brown and brown with white stripe to a capacitor with two terminals

the (white) wire is likely the neutral, red - low speed, blue - high speed.they would typically be connected thru a selector switch. however, best guess is that white would hook to incoming white neutral, and blue (or red, but not both at the same time) would hook to incoming black (hot) wire.

on the motor should be a diagram detailing the wires. brown white goes to either side of the capacitor and brown wire to other side of capacitor. hi speed goes to normally open contact on the indoor fan relay and the wire designated common on the motor goes to the other side of power from the relay contacts.

I am trying to hook up my cable box so i can watch tv.


At the cable box input, connect the cable (probably labeled "Cable In" or "Signal In").

Depending on the cable box model and available inputs on your TV, connect one of the following (listed in descending order of video quality). Colored phono plugs must match the colors of the plugs on each end.:

  • HDMI (a single rectangular connector at each end - sometimes you need to connect the Audio separately with a two - line cable with red and white phono plugs).
  • YPbBr, AKA Component (Cable with Red, Blue and Green phono plugs, plus a separate Red and White cable set for Audio).
  • S-video (a single round connector and separate Red and White audio cables).
  • Composite (Yellow video cable plus Red and White audio cables, usually sold as a single set).
  • RF out on the cable box connects to ANT or Cable In on the TV with a coax cable.
The various options are always grouped in some manner on both the Cable box and the TV. On the TV, note which input set you use, for example, "Component 1". This is the input you will select to watch whatever channel you select on the cable box.

An unused output on the cable box can go to a video recorder. Some cable boxes may permit setting up two different channels for this purpose; others will only put out the signal from one channel at a time on all outputs.

You may, if you prefer, connect the audio cable from the cable box to a stereo receiver instead of the TV. Usually people connect the audio to the TV, then connect another audio cable from "Audio Out" or "Monitor Out" on the TV to the stereo receiver. That way the sound is from whatever video source is currently selected, and the TV remote control can be used to set the volume. TV sets with this option usually have a setting to turn off the internal speakers so you hear only the external stereo speakers.

5 ton carrier. we changed the condenser motor and marked where the wires connected. Old motor had yellow and brown to capacitor. New motor has an extra brown wire with white stripe... I connected it...


The best way to wire that motor is to connect a separate capacitor to it. The brown and brown w/white stripe go to the capacitor. The black and red wires go to the contactor.

Replacing blower motor in furnace w/Fasco brand #D727


Some one missed the wiring diagram. I believe its like this:
L1 = Line 1 = (Hot all are same thing)
Black Hi
Blue Med
Red LO
Now usually the black is for AC and connects to a normally Open (NO) contact on the blower relay.
The heater speed (either red or blue) go the the normally Closed (NC) on the blower relay and on one side of this wire or contact on the relay it goes to the heating blower thermostat on the furnace.
The remaining wire (blue or red) you tape off.
L1 also feeds the Run Capacitor on 1 side and the Brown wire feeds the opposite side

The white wire is Neutral and goes to the neutral on the main line.

New Timer--New Problem


Sound like you connected the timer up wrong, from my drawing check the following connections to the timer.
terminal 12 & 26 - Black (linked) mains supply
terminal 17 yellow/red (from rinse switch)
terminal 28 grey (from water level switch)
terminal 15 light blue (advance rinse switch water level switch)
terminal 27 brown (door switch)
terminal 25 brown (door switch)
terminal 62 green/black (motor)
terminal 7 red (motor)
terminal 32 yellow (motor)
terminal 9 blue (capacitor /motor)
terminal 8 white/yellow (motor) and white (water solenoids hot and cold)
terminal 71 pink (water selector switch and hot solenoid)
terminla 72 purple (water selector switch and cold solenoid)
terminal 70 white/blue (water selector switch)

Watch the light blue wires as there are several of them!!
