Marti: According to GreenTractorTalk.com, T Mo said: "A couple of things come to mind, first is the brake sticking. Second is the brake linkage needing adjusting, therefore not releasing the brake. Thirdly, the linkage for the gears itself." This YouTube video shows brakes but not for your model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce_d9-2c7wI
Many of these machines have a Noram blade brake clutch, there are no parts available for this clutch, they are shimmed up so the manufacturer will not supply parts for it, it will be a complete replacement, the cable should be slack when the the clutch is dissengaged.
Firstly remove the battery and battery tray and clean all grass and debris from around the hydrostatic drive and cooling fan. Secondly check the drive belt idler pulley, arm and spring for free travel. Hope this helps, regards Phil.
Sounds to me like your hydrostatic control lever has became disengaged. If you had a fluid problem yuou would probably find fluid on the ground or within the tractor chasis somewhere. I,d check the linkages for your problem. Also make sure your parking brake is released.
Usually there is a red handle under the steering colunm that locks the pedal down. You will need to depress the brake as you push down on the red handle which should release it.
its got to be a linkage problem get up under there and have someone try to disengage the brake and see what isnt working, sounds like a definite linkage problem
