maybe short circuit or similiar problem inside since its geting hot, probably not a problem with the faceplate I would remove the cd player from your car and take it to a professional for a diagnosis / repair estimate. Can't solve this one with text only.

My Simrad CP30 worked well until I changed the CMOS battery. Unit was left without this battery for a few months. Now screen makes one flicker when connected to power however nothing happens when power...

This not good, from the description the bios information has been lost, the laptop will not restart without it, if the battery had been left in this would not be a issue, the only way around this have it reprogramed at the manufacture, or replace the motherboard, both expensive options.

I need to replace the batteries and i dont know how or where to do this

Somewhere, like in the electrical room, is a place where all the wires for your phone sysem go. In that room, or closet, or whatever is a Partner ACS phone system. The cards are either light gray or ivory colored and it has a bunch of modular jacks in the face of it. One of the cards is the ACS processor and it has a battery compartment on the lower right side of the face of the unit. Without turning off the system, you can slide the lock over, pull the battery holder out, and put 2 new batteries in the holder. That will stop the "change battery" message.

I can't get my daughter's Hullabaloo working

Remove the batteries & press and hold the button again for 60 seconds. This will ensure that the capacitors in the unit fully discharge. Replace the batteries in the correct sequence and try to power on the unit again. Without further information (was the unit dropped, immersed in water, were the batteries ever put in incorrectly) I cannot offer you another solution.

Check the fuse at the tip of the power cord. Unscrew the round black plastic and this will release the fuse. Otherwise there could be a problem with the power cord. If the cord is defective, replace only a Garmin replacement.
