SOURCE: spider gears fell on rear differential 95 ford explorer

It's not easy to put them back, but if you get the side gears in position with the axles bumped out as far as you can, the smaller spider gears can be "walked" into place. Try having your buddy rotate one of the wheels slowly until each one fits in. It's tricky but you'll get it.

SOURCE: In 3rd gear the front wheels shake on 8N ford Tractor

The quick easy answer is put your feet on the steering shafts just ahead of your feet when sitting on the tractor when driving at speeds causing the shimmy. This is what most people do.

The longer answer is a new or rebuilt steering box or possibly adjustment.

Some (most) boxes have play that cannot be adjusted tight even with a rebuild.

SOURCE: my 1949 8N Ford tractor, the starter just spins

My thought is you need a new "bendix" for lack of a better word. The device I speak of spins out and connects with the flywheel. There is the possibility you have electric problems but based on what you say, I think it is mechanical.

I have a ford 3000 tractor that when you put it in gear and let the clutch out it wont move but if you press the rear differentil lock pedal it will go

You either have one of your rear axles spline stripped or broke, or side diff gear. The diff lock will lock both axles together and pull it self stripped or not. The diff lock will make tractor pull itself but only one wheel is pulling the tractor at this time. Determine which wheel is pulling and which one is not with diff lock on. The one not pulling is the broken side. Disassemble and repair.

Does rear end oil and hydrodaulic fluid go in same reservoir

Ford 8n's use a commion sump, rear end, transmission and hydraulics. Ford called for 80 or 90 weight gear lube depending on temperature (winter/summer) about 5 gallons The link below is a great article on proper oil and maintenance....Hope this helps...

Early Ford Farm Tracker- Clutch not engaging

Is it a 8N ford tractor or close to that?
Does the transmission grind or hard to put in gear if the clutch is left engaged while placing in a gear.......does it feel like the clutch is driving the transmission?
If so....there is a short drive shaft behind the transmission in the tractor which may have broken.
There's not much else that breaks in there.

My pto wont go in gear; 8n tracter.

Try it while just coming to a stop.or just starting to move forward.
Depress the clutch and push it back towards engagement position....because it's tied to wheel speed the moving parts might allow it to drop in.
