Question about Kodak Cameras

Kodak Easy Share z712 IS not detecting charged battery

I've had this camera almost a year. At first I could get a ton of pictures on one battery charge. Then I started getting less and less. Within a 10-20 shots I'd get the low battery sign. Now I can't even get 1 picture. It says my batteries are low or dead even though they are fully charged. I just bought a new battery thinking the old ones were worn out and maybe not holding a charge but it's the same deal. Then I had dh test the batteries with a meter so I know they really are fully charged. Frustrating as the last Kodak digital I had ended up doing the same thing and is why I upgraded to this one last year.

I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.

A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...

So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one.
I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.

Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything.
What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V

Thank you to everyone I was able to enlighten somehow.

The other thing about this camera is the LOUD mechanism. I hope it's synonimous with "STURDY" and "LONG LASTING".

I found it out when "shooting" some squirrels and chipmonks. LOL!
As soon as I turned the camera ON, they'd all take off!!! LOL!

This did not happen with my Canon Powershot

Any anocdotes will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

How can I transfer pictures on internal memory to the memory card on a Kodak Easy Share CD80?

You would need to connect your Kodak Easy Share CD80 first to a computer via a USB cable. Afterwards, the computer should detect another drive (which is your Kodak camera) by going to My Computer. Once you see the drive for your camera, you just need to double click it so that you can paste the pictures that you want to send to your Kodak Camera.

My kodak easy share z712 IS won't power on, I have used 6 sets of batteries, to no avail. The batteries are new, thinking that was the problem, I bought this refurbished about a year ago, it worked for...

If the camera will not power on at all, then I have no where to start. Nothing can be done except repair. this camera will need repair, or sell it as parts or as is on a site such as Ebay.
Call Kodak, and tell them the problem,it just might be that they may take the camera back. It may be worth the time. Go to the website for kodak, find the support and then find the service or repair department. Call them.

My Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS problem is with the batteries. I'm using the Kodak Digital Batteries and they will only last about 30 minutes..even when I just use the viewfinder instead of the LCD. My son can...

I've had the exact same problem with mine. My wife was ready to buy a new one, but I didn't want to giveup the nice optical zoom on the Z712 IS. Checking out the web and a friend of ours with the same camera, it appears to be a common problem. My last time to try the camera, I took 19 pictures on brand new batteries and they died. The Kodak site doesn't really acknowledge a problem with the camera, but I found the latest firmware (1.06) and just walked around the house taking pictures with flash. At 25 pictures, I'm still going strong. Definitely worth a try to see if it fixes your problem: http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadFile.jhtml?locsvcsEntryPath=10807&product=EKN033025&operatingSystem=windows_xp&lang=en&type=firmware&downloadId=dln00179_file1&variant=false&pq-path=14091

Kodak easy share digital camera m863

I have a Easy Share M863 and have had it less than a year. It was working great and then last week I tried turning it on and it would not open. I thought it might be the battery needed charging so I did that. It still will not open. I contacted Kodak and they told me they would give me 15% on a new digital camera. That is not what I wanted. My camera is not even a year old. It should have lasted longer I think.

Docking and charging digital camera

Not sure if this will help, but you might try removing the batteries from camera, then see if it responds on the dock, if so it is most likely bad battery. That battery should be easy enough to find at locally. You might wanna try the Interactive Troubleshooter on Kodak's site. http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn030483.jhtml?pq-path=6861
