The red light on the front of the PreSonus Inspire 1394 means there is no synch between the interface and the computer. The device is useless until that light goes blue.

Make sure the device drivers are installed. Check device manager... look for two entries: one under "61883 Device Class" and the other under "Sound, video and game controllers". Missing devices or devices with a yellow exclaimation may need to be reinstalled. A red "X" means it's disabled (enable it).

Sometimes, the connection just stumbles. It may come back on it's own, but usually not. Try pulling the firewire out of the computer, counting to five and plugging it back in.

Other possible, but less likely causes: bad firewire (try another), interference (stay away from CFLs), or a bad firewire port. Or the device could just be bad.

Is it not possible to use the usb cable to hook up the HTC Inspire to your tv true or false possible or not.

I believe some USB connections on TVs, game consoles are USB 2.0 which means they can provide power. If anything, you can only charge your HTC through the tv's usb connection

Inverter beeping, red light power to pc going in and out

Usually the beeping means the outlet is being short circuited or you are drawing too much power. Make sure your hooked up device(s) don't draw more than 90W and are intact.

Nothing happens when I plug this in. I've tried eSATA and USB, both with the power adapter. The blue light comes on but nothing else. The hard drive works in other enclosures so I know that isn't the...

Your assumptions are leading in the right direction.
  • The blue light would just be denoting power to the device the red light would denote drive activity. The limitation on this enclosure is that its white papers states a "Hard Drive Compatibility: 320GB HDD capacity", but I have seen people use a 500GB drive that seemed to work. If your using a drive larger then 320GB this may be an issue.
  • The enclosure HDD combo is Plug-N-Play via USB so this would mean drivers most likely are not the issue. I don't believe drivers are even packaged with the device which would mean they use protocol standard drivers from the OS.
  • Make sure that you are not hooking the USB up to a external USB hub (especially a bus-powered one) while trouble shooting as it may not provide enough power. Connect the drive up to system USB controller directly while trouble shooting.
  • I believe this device has the ability to hook up 2 USB cables at the same time for extra power (mainly while using the eSATA connection). Try hooking up the USB mini-B connector and the USB +5VDC connector and then hooking both up to the system on two different USB ports. This should then correct the possibility that your drive may not be getting enough power.
  • Lastly, the enclosure could have a faulty IC on the PCB. Exchanging it would provide the answer for that.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for visiting

Toshiba satellite P305D-s8828 won't come on or recharge

Check your AC adapter to make sure it is plugged in, and that the light (if you have one) is on on the adapter. If not try a different outlet. If it is gently wiggle the jack going into the computer to see if the system starts, if it does start you need to have the DC jack replaced. A flashing light means the battery has died and it needs to be charged, the laptop charges the battery using the adapter so start by checking from the wall to the laptop.

Creative Inspire 5200 system won't work

Hi. Check your speaker system with a different audio device like iPod or any MP3 Player using the same jacks. If the speaker system gives out sounds then nothing is wrong with it... if no sounds come out, then you know what I mean...

Try to replace the speaker of your sub-woofer... maybe that can fix it!

The ac adaptor light is permanently red

Hook up the ac adaptor and make sure the other end is not plugged into the xbox 360. if its still red then your ac adaptor is bad. If its still green then plug the other end into the 360 and if it turns red then that means the mainboard inside the 360 is bad.
