Question about PreSonus INSPIRE 1394 External Sound System
The red light on the front of the PreSonus Inspire 1394 means there is no synch between the interface and the computer. The device is useless until that light goes blue.
Make sure the device drivers are installed. Check device manager... look for two entries: one under "61883 Device Class" and the other under "Sound, video and game controllers". Missing devices or devices with a yellow exclaimation may need to be reinstalled. A red "X" means it's disabled (enable it).
Sometimes, the connection just stumbles. It may come back on it's own, but usually not. Try pulling the firewire out of the computer, counting to five and plugging it back in.
Other possible, but less likely causes: bad firewire (try another), interference (stay away from CFLs), or a bad firewire port. Or the device could just be bad.

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 06, 2011 | HTC Inspire 4G Smartphone
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps
