Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

On July 9th, I asked: on my 50'' plasma, a vertical line popped up from top to bottom and 2 days later another was duplicated both located at 1/3 screen in from the right side. I was told the DM board has a bad capacitor and will need to be replaced. I then asked if $1200.00 was a valid cost as quoted by a sony repair ctr. I received the Plasma back today not repaired and these now are the reasons: ''Need to replace bad sustain boards and main logic core seems like it took a big power spike and affected components hopefully. The PDP display is bad. no longer available''. Can anyone confirm this based on the info given and any other thoughts. This is a Sony KE50XBR900. Thanks in advance.

There is little hope.
In some plasma set there are some panels with the so called COF ic's,in some sets these IC's are powered via an SMD resistor located near these IC.Resoldering the resistors could be the sollution.

LG plasma 50 inch tv with a fine vertical black line in the center of the screen that runs from the top of the screen to the bottom

Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have evenly spaced, rows of two vertical green and red lines from top to bottom of my vizio plasma P50HDTV10A

Somehow when switching between the tv and the dvd my wife encountered the pink and green, thin, parallel, vertical lines on the screen. The picture was visible with the lines. I turned the tv off and on but the problem persisted. Unplugged tv for about two minutes and after plugging it back in and turning it on the vertical lines very gone and the picture was back to normal.

Samsung 50 in. HPS5033X/XAA colored lines running vertically and won't go away.

How wide are the lines. Do they change width? Where on the screen are they located?Connections on the c boards at the bottom to the panel flex cables or bad c board itself can cause 2 inch wide verticle bar. Before touching these connectors be sure power supply is disconnected from the 2 sustain boards on the sides. If you don't there will be an arc that will destroy the flex cable thus you will have to replace the panel. If C boards or connections don't fix it the replace the plasma panel. If the lines are thin lines then panel is likely bad. Contact Panasonic even if out of warr they may help.

the y-boards are not the problem. its the e or f board located on the bottom of the panel open the back cover and look at both for potential burn spots around the silicon sealant. if one or r brown, theres your problem. ebay the board number and get it fixed.

Parallel vertical lines through left side of Panasonic Plasma tv

This sounds like one of the driver boards at the bottom or top of the screen has an intermittent fault. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.
