Question about NetGear Powerline XE102 Ethernet Bridge Network Adapter

Netgear wall plug XE102 stops working when downloading

I have two Netgear Wall Plug XE102's. Internet works perfectly until I download a file. It will start at say 500k, then go down to 400, 300, 200, 100, 0, then just stop. I have to reboot the wall plug for the Internet to work again.

It seems to be an issue either with the powerline adapters or the electric line. Swap the devices and check if it helps. Also, disable encryption utility if being used

Try connectig both teh devices in the same room and check the download speed

My wall-plug says it can't get in ip adress. It also says that it can't even connect to the network. Is this fixable? If yes, how? (P.S. This isused for my xbox by me, if that helps anything.)


The device is for "bridge the networks" each other PC,Laptop,etc...,is not a router.The device communicates with the router so you can have better "signal" between any device that want access to your network.

I have MacBook and it is not recognizing the ethernet connection


1. First check the light status of the XE102.
2. Then hard reset the Xe102
3. As this is a plug n play device all the lights should come on.
4. In case if the lights wont come on.
5. Check the powerline ..
6. And if that will not work , get a new adapter or replace the existing one from netgear ( 1-888-638-4327 )

Only power light NetGear XE102


I was never a big fan on thos plug in ethernet devices. I would either go wireless or run hard line to the computer.

No lights come on when I switch on my XE102.


Though, it is not repairable, yuu may contact NETGEAR to get the unit replaced if it is still under warranty. Contact them http://my.netgear.com

I had the exact same problem those branded ones at our shop where one just stopped working all together.
THeres a couple of things to rule out so you can try some steps to figure it out.
Try changing the port on the router where the first plug is hooked into, if you can, try a direct connection without the plugs aswell. Also, try inserting the plugs in different outlets and see if anything has changed. If they're only a month old, they are still under warranty and you could get them replaced either through ytour place of purchase or from netgear aswell.

Can't Connect to Netgear Range Extender Kit


-- you can connect the Xe102 to he wall plug where ur router is placed
-- And then reset it from the reset hole on the back of the Xe102
-- and after that connect the WGX102 to the other wall plug where u wanna get wireless access ..
-- And then reset it from the reset hole on the back of the WGX102 as well
-- And once u do that it will not ask for a security key .
-- It will show netgear unsecured
-- try to connect with it and u will be connected

I have a logitech cctc system but when i plug in the usb device it states there is a problem with the powerline bridge driver and states its not compatable with vista but logitech states it is compatable...


You might have a 64-bit Windows installed. The drivers on the CD are only for 32-bit windows. Download and install the latest drivers from Logitech website (http://www.wilife.com/Support/Downloads.aspx), which includes the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Hope this helps !

Netgear xe102 isnot picking up an ip address
