Question about Dishwashers
Usually on the floor there is a grill that strains the water. You may have a buildup of particles there. Your soap maybe old, you may have run out of the liquid that stops spots, or your water may not be hot enough. If the dw is more than 18 months old you probably need to rinse the dishes better before you put them in...especially rice, potatoes, anything with starch in it

Tips for a great answer:
I have the same problem with gunk and spots on dishes. I took apart the parts at bottom covering the heating element. There is all sorts of gunk on everything. I cleaned it all, even under gaskets and filter screen. I am neither sure what caused it nor how to prevent it. My thinking maybe the water source. Water in my town has gotten worse in quality and has bad smell. I use a major water filter system for drinking water. My thought is that the heating element is drying the water up and leaving sediment from water.

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
