Re: sound

There is a problem of virus install anti virus.
manually, go to the device manager select the sound option and scan it, if the question mark in yellow appear mean not install, select it and right click it and select update driver go through it step by step select recommended process insert motherboard cd and define the path and click ok restart the system.
if u don't have the driver program then mail me u computer configuration.

I'm upgardeing my ms-7061's cpu from a 1.5 to 2.2

Download > Manual >

Supports AMD Athlon / Athlon XP / Duran (Socket 462) processor.
(Socket 462 = Socket A)

Supports from 1100MHz to 3000+ model.

VIA KM266 Pro motherboard chipset - Front Side Bus support of 266MegaHertz.

(Same specs as a VIA KT266A but with Integrated Graphics.
The 133MHz FSB support shown is doubled. AMD processors are 'Double-pumped')

VIA KM400 motherboard chipset -
FSB support of 266MHz to 333MHz.
(Same as KT400 but with Integrated Graphics)

VIA KM400A motherboard chipset -
FSB support of either 266MHz, 333MHz, or 400MHz
(Same as KT400A but with Integrated Graphics)

Looking at the Bottom/Right corner at the CMOS battery;
There are THREE sets of jumper pins to the bottom right edge of the CMOS battery.

6 pins towards the outside edge of the motherboard, 3 pins to the inside of the motherboard. (Left side of the 6 pins)

On the 6 pins in a row configuration, the top 3 pins is SW1.
The bottom 3 pins is SW2.
The 3 pins to the inside of them is JBAT 1

In the 3 pins for SW1 the bottom pin, or pin closest to the bottom edge of the motherboard, is Pin 1.

Same for SW2. The bottom pin, or pin closest to the bottom edge of the motherboard, is Pin 1.

Jumper on pins;
SW1 pins 2 and 3, SW2 pins 1 and 2 = 266MHz FSB support
SW1 pins 1 and 2, SW2 pins 1 and 2 = 333MHz FSB support

For the KM400A (KT400A) motherboard chipset;
SW1 pins 1 and 2, SW2 pins 2 and 3 = 200MHz FSB support

1) What is the model name, and model number of the AMD processor you are going to use?

2) What kind of Thermal Paste are you using?

3) What are you using to clean the bottom of the Heatsink with, and is the top of the Processor clean?

4) Are you following Anti-Static Precautions?

In my windows 7 the vga driver cannot be instal, it is not instaling the softer.

This is mercury's site for downloads however, I seriousy doubt they will support Windows 7:
There had been alot of compatability problems with Windows 7 and older software. I will give you VIA's link as well. You have Via P4M800 and 8237 chipsets and Realtek ALC655 , for sound.:
Their support only supports up to Win XP. If you have no luck with your driver, you may have to consider an upgrade to a video or graphics card. Wit the Radeon HD cards, you get graphics and HD sound.
Good luck,

I want to upgrade my system from KM266-8235, 1.53 GH processor

Hi, you can do what i always recommend to my customers, install a new industry standard architecture (ISA) motherboard kit which will include a motherboard, processor,memory bundle. This future proofs you pc for at least five years, enables you to upgrade memory and processors on a plug 'n' play basis. fitting a kit is dead easy, with full instructions and what's more you will not lose any data on your hard drive either. My msi km400 8237 acpi problem

If you had APM or no power management activated, you will need to reinstall windows after turning on ACPI to load the new ACPI HAL and to detect the hardware again. Otherwise windows will be confused about the type of PC it's installed on.

USB 2.0 (Chipset VIA 8237) ECS P4M800-M7 Unknow Device

Hi, John

The USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 is a big issue regarding technology, the 1.1 has maximum speed of 12 megabits where as 2.0 has upto 480 Mbps. And all USB 2.0 devices are compatible with 1.1. Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional are both fully USB 2.0-compliant with the correct drivers.

So in your case it must work properly. But if the USB 2.0 from microsoft got currepted or badly updated by some thirdparty USB 2.0 driver then it will not work. I have been faced this problem. After doing some stuff I found that if I uninstall the USB drivers and reinstall it from microsoft driver then it works.

So, just go to the Device manager and un-install the USB drivers, then reboot the system to parmanently delete the removed driver. Then install the driver from Windows XP CD.

good luck
