Grateful if you are able to provide me with a part number for the short 'L' shaped hose that goes from the top of the water pump to some other part on the engine on a Landrover Discovery 200 TDi 1991 five door vehicle.

My 1998 Cadillac Eldorado runs fine until I get to 55mph or more, the in it starts running past normal to hot. I slow down to 45 and it goes back to normal.

Try turning on the heat, full hot and high fan when it starts to overheat. Does the temp go down?

It could be the thermostat not opening completely. It could be a hose collapsing. It could be a radiator that is somewhat clogged.

How do i know there is still water in the system. my rig recently stopped working and I suspect the cooler is no longer pumping water

Most water cooled systems don't lose fluid if the seals and hoses are in good shape, plus you would know if the system lost fluid...inside or outside your rig. The biggest issue with water cooled systems is the radiator, it gets plugged with hair and dust and is hard to see because of the fan that covers it. I recommend with these systems that a weekly cleaning of the fan and cooling fins of the radiator. A small vacuum does a great job. Usualy when the system stops working it is caused by a thermal shutdown signal from the processor.

Emachines T2958 overheating and shutting down

Your computer is automatically shutting down to prevent damage to the CPU because it is getting too hot. This can be caused due to a malfunction fan, heatsink, or dirt inside the CPU.

Remove the side cover of the CPU. Using a can of air (which can be purchased at most electronics departments), blow out any dust inside the case, paying specific attention to the fan and the heatsink mounting the CPU. Also blow out all vents and anywhere else you see dust. Do not shake the can of air and keep it as level as possible. If you do not have a can of air available, an air compressor will work. Alternatively, you may vacuum the dust up with the hose of a vacuum cleaner but do not use any attachment with brushes on it.

If the inside is relatively dust free, check to make sure all the fans are functioning properly. If the one on the CPU is not, then that fan will have to be replaced.

And one more thing, please give this solution a fixya rating. Thanks! :c)

thermostat is usually at the motor end of the top radiator hose.. under a cap usually held down with 3 bolts (working off memory, its been a while) sounds like you have a short somewhere, look around engine bay for black, burnt, or broken wiring; failing that take dash apart and the gauges out and check the wiring behind there.. and fuses (obviously)

your heater hose may have a leak or a blockage, preventing the hot water circulating. Pull off the heater hose and flush it out. Heater hose generally goes from your radiator T junction to the firewall of the vehicle.
Hope this helps
