Question about Apple MacBook 13"White /2.0Ghz Intel Core2 Duo White/2GB (2x1gb)/80GB/SuperDrive (Z0DT) Mac Notebook
My computer just went into "freeze" mode, so i switched it off. when i swithched it on again, the screen just turned plain white plus theres a blinking question mark...what does this means? i read u write a solution about this, but how do I reinstall the system? your help and suggestion will be greatly appreciated! thanks!
It usually means that there is a problem with the hard drive and your system must be reinstalled. The first step would be to put in the OS X disk that came with your computer and then restart. you can either hold down the Option button or hold down the C button while starting for the computer to let you chose the disk for startup. Once you have started from the disk you can try some of the disk utilities which will help you check to see if your disk can be repaired.
Try Googling these phrases and looking for more detailed help: "questionmark at bootup apple ibook", "reinstall OS X macbook", "run disk utilities OS X". These are good places to start when trying to figure out what is wrong. I like using Disk Warrior, a pay program that is excellent for recovering seemingly dead computers.
