SOURCE: Hoover F5858-910 doesn't spray water

Hello dc42 & osuguy101. I suggest using a cleaning solution, 50/50 vinager/water, in the fluid tank to clean the ports. #2 Unit may have a fluid pump problem. Please update me on results.

Spray trigger stuck?

Hi there! If the spray trigger is stuck try removing and replacing the handle. Remove the two screws that attach the handle. Slide the handle off. Inspect the two rods inside of the handle for damages. Make sure both rods are pulled down. Replace handle and two screws. If the spray trigger is still stuck or if the rods were damaged in any way a replacement handle may be needed. If so I have included a link where you may purchase a replacement handle. Search Results Good luck!

I have a Hoover steam vac spin scrub and with the attachment the water sprays out continuously reagardless if I press the button.

Just had this problem. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to tug up on the white nozzle at the end of the attachment. It should slide up about 1/4 of an inch and then you should be good to go. Be careful not to snap the plastic.

The cleaning solution nozzle on the Hoover Spin Scrub upholstery attachment just barely drips. I can't get the solution to spray. Any ideas?

make sure that the supply line is clear ,some times if solution is allowed to dry in the line the soap dries and blocks the route of solution
Try and use some viniger to break up the deposits

I have used my Steam Vac for carpeting, but until today, had never tried cleaning upholstery with the spin-scrub brush. I spent a miserable afternoon trying to control the spray, which seemed to go...

I can sympathize. My vac came with two handheld attachments. I have better luck with the handheld attachment that doesn't have the spin-scrub pads. To keep the water from going all over the place, you need to keep the part the you hold only about 1 inch from the surface of the upholstery; if you hold it higher it gets everywhere; if you hold it lower the spray doesn't spread out wide enough and it just makes big water droplets that roll down the upholstry.

If the vac isn't sucking up the water, it is likely you have it set up wrong. Take off the attachment; if you put your hand over the open end of the tube, do you feel suction? When you are using the handheld attachments there is a rectangular piece you remove (attached to the dirty water tank) and you stick the rectangular part from the hose in there. If you are getting suction but it's just not sucking up any water try these 1) maybe you aren't laying down enough water, spray it more heavily OR 2) you need to **** up the water right after you lay it down. Don't let it soak in for more than a few seconds.

good luck!

Hoover F7452-900 SteamVac Upright Vacuum
I noticed recently that our Hoover F7452 All Terrain constantly sprays water. As soon as I turn it on, whether or not it's set to Rinse or Auto-Rinse, its leaking water at the brushes. I probably wouldn't have noticed but I attached the hand-held adapter to clean our stairs and when I was done there was a HUGE pile of water under the vac. I took everything off and cleaned really good and looked again this morning and its still doing it. Any ideas?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You probably have a bad trigger release valve or a loose connection @ the bottom of the SteamVac or the gasket under the solution tank in not sitting on there right and is leaking or you may have a small cut in the hose, but it so may guess that it is a bad trigger release valve or a bad gasket. Check with your local vac dealer to see if they have a new or a good used one to see if there is the problem or back track the problem from the bottom to the solution tank. So If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Stair and upholstery attachment

After tearing things down and inspecting the handle switch, etc., I found that my problem was detergent. It sets idle for a while or doesn't get used very much and the detergent dries and actually clogs the inside of the hose. I cleared it by fully extending the hose, pressing the button and allowing the clog to clear itself. The built in heater helped out a lot once the flow started again. I used a can of compressed air to provide a little blow back to get things moving but not too much or the pump would be damaged. Remove the tool and hold the nozzle into an empty cup while depressing the trigger. A warm vinegar solution clears things out nicely. It's kinda hard for this piece go defective but easy to overlook when wrapping up and storing the unit. Remember, clean water rinse with 1/4 cup white vinegar. There, I fixed it and wasn't even broke!
