Text message identity

When I receive a text, it displays the # it's from not the NAME as is listed on my SIM, what the hell!?

You need to put the name and number on your phone memory and put the phone to read from the phone's memory and it will show up....

Go to your 'contacts' and pull up the menu, select 'SIM Phone Book', select 'Copy All To Contacts'. After this the SMS should be updated with the contact info.

When i receive text messages just the number comes up how do i change it to name showing

You need to copy your #s to your phone from your sim card. If your #s are only in your sim card and your preferred storage for your text messages is set to "phone" it's receiving and saving according to that setting. If your preferred storage is set to "phone" it will only tag it with names that are actually saved in your "phone" not sim. *NOTE: You only need to copy to phone the people you want text name tags for. Your incoming calls will not be affected by this.

No contact name displayed when receiving a phone call, only the #

go to menu,select call settings,then select caller id network and set it to 'automatic selection'.the phone will detect the network and name will be displayed.

there may be promlem in ur contact setting so try this.....

go to contact option then open setting

there may be many options like contact view
u choose in these option "name and number"

Have a LG Cookie 500 when I send a text get =cannot send/retrieve messages, just stoped sending I can recieve text! got new sim but still the same Please Help!

This can occur when you compose a message and then hit recipient and then enter the contacts name. The phone will say 'Sending' then 'Cannot send/retrieve messages'.If you enter the recipients NUMBER the transmission will work OK.

If you want to send a text to someone by NAME, select their name from the 'Contacts' list then hit the Message icon (envelope). Write the message then hit send...

Text messages!

Password reset start from beginning after rebooting charged battery (wipe battery connections on phone with dry cloth and battery itself then full charge) then after cleaned battery connections load Y contacts 1st Making sure all Yahoo contacts are on computer as safety fall back.

it means the message saved to your SIM card, not your phone.
