I have checked all over and there is no paper jammed anywhere, I checked the paper I took out and it is all there so nothing in the printer. I have turned the printer off, unplugged it, disconnected it from the pc, turned the pc off but it is still saying paper jam :( please can anyone help?

Had the same problem, called help center and fixed it!!! Problem occurred when i tried to print colour labels from Word. Black cartridge printing worked fine. When using manual feed (pull down black panel in front which says 'brother'- you'll get the message for this if printing labels you must open the back door of the printer. got 'paper jam inside' error message.
Here's what I did and somewhere along the way, something worked.
Turn and unplug machine take out all drum cartridges (all 4) Take out the black belt (everything you can remove has a green arrow or tab- easy) check to see if there's any paper in there- there was no paper in my case. separate the drum from the cartridge for each colour and check the colour roller and the fuser film roller- don't touch them- no paper stuck that i could see put them back together carefully. Put the belt in and then the 4 cartridges do a test run- mine still showed error message- paper jam inside switch black with each cartridge and do a test run for each. When i switched with yellow - didn't work, magenta- didn't work- cyan- WORKED!!!- the colours were messed up on the document but it went through and printed without the error message. Here's the sequence of what colour cartridge went in which spot. Yellow in black slot magenta in yellow slot cyan in magenta slot black in cyan slot. then i switched them back to the way they are supposed to be and tried to print again and it worked! the colour is amazing on this printer- i had the trouble right from the beginning after installation. hope this helps.
hi karn..you need to disasemble your printer and clean your Maintenance unit....the coz of this error 51 is usually you are using competetor ink and then you have reset the counter (error 46) ,after you reset it, you need to change ink absorber if not it will bank those waste ink in the ink absorber and after it is full the waste ink have no place to store and it will jam the mantenance unit and the worse case it the ink maybe spoil other part of the printer go and find engineer asap if not you need to replace new unit....
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume
button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the
printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
Please check rear door area for paper, can you use manual feed slot? Power off machine with all jams removed and paper loaded, then power on, can you tell us exact error message/lights that are shown in this state?
