My Motorola DVD box is showing incorrect times for shows We are off by five hours. How do I fix this?

Usually this is a faulty battery - make sure you go to a reputable jeweller and have the battery changed. Even somewhere like Kmart will only use decent quality batteries.
I bought batteries off eBay once that were very cheap, and I had this problem all the time. Now I only buy Energizer, Duracell, etc.

To answer your question;
Your motorola will connect directly(not through the dvd) to the tv set into one of the input ,(preferably using hdmi or component cables for hd) and the dvd will use a different input,
All you have to do then is switch between which one you want to watch.

The fact that a certain format did work once indicates it most likely is the infamous "reset" problem we are experiencing with our Sansui--the same model that you have. This appears to be memory"reset" issue since firmware instructions work fine with formats allowed, per instruction manual. Especially, if your dvd player fails to read upon disk insertion. There were some appended instructions with my unit--stating a 45 second delay required for reading the disc if I recall correctly--something to that effect. However, this will not usually correct the power "reset" issue. It has been suggested elsewhere to unplug the dvd player for 30 minutes, then try again. This momentarily corrects at least some of the problem. I would think that 5 or 10 minutes unplugged would be plenty of time for bleeding off corrupted (or overloaded?) memory issues. It's interesting that our other unit--the same model purchased at the same time--never had this problem. Still looking for answers myself... Good luck!
