Question about LaCie (300770) 250 GB Hard Drive
Appearance on desk top goes on and off with subsequent error ms. of Device removal, etc. Can I fix this or do I have to send it in to La Cie?
Before you send it back to La Cie, try plugging in the drive to another USB port in your computer. If that doesn't help, try using a different USB cable as the cable might be damaged. You can also try checking this hard disk on some other computer. Check if it happens the same on some other computer as well? In case it does not happnen on another computer, then the problem is on your computer and not the hard disk. If it happens the same on another computer with another USB cable then the Hard Disk is at fault and you will need to send it to La Cie. Also let us know the complete and exact error messages that you get.
