I have a Compaq laptop, Windows Vista, Norton 360 virus protection, and a 2Wire router from AT&T. Attepted fixes have been restarts of both the computer and router, disabling all known firewalls, reinstallation from the 2Wire support CD, and calls to ATT tech support. I know I can connect to the router and from there can successfully ping yahoo.com, but my browsers and applications cannot connect to or utilize the internet.
del everything in %temp%, if you are using internet explorer, reset it back to factory by..in IE7 select, tools, internet options,go to advanced tab and click reset. Be advised, Vista is notoriously difficult when it comes to internet connection problems especially wireless. www.aa1consulting.com
I am not sure how you reset that router, but normally on the back of that router will be a very small hole, get a pin and push into the hole and that should reset the router to default settings (As New) and reboot the pc. Once the pc has rebooted go to start>Control panel>Network Connetions & then make sure that the connection is enabled or click repair & this will help you get a new IP address.
Best of luck !!
